Rain Games, much like Image & Form, has opted to try something a little different in the way it produces games, aiming for a shared universe concept much like we see in the film industry. It all started with Teslagrad and recently got another entry with World to the West. Now, Rain Games has announced a third game, which will be set in yet another new place.
Mesmer will be a new take on strategy games, focusing on a character who leads one of different five factions in the capital city of Pardam. The goal will be to accrue as many resources and supporters as possible while still keeping activities a secret from the Crown. It sounds like yet another fascinating departure, and while release details aren’t forthcoming, know that it’ll launch on the Switch.

Nintendo switch have no games
Mesmerising. I'm sure this will be good like their other games.
@therealgamer Not many first party games, that's about the only thing people can claim at this point.
@Kalmaro Its Feb and no new games came out this year on the Switch. Bunch of old ports. And 3rd party games
@Kalmaro Pay no attention to him. His only comments are just desperate troll material.
@RyanSilberman Yeah I am a troll who tells the truth right
@therealgamer My only question is how "Switch has no games" is relevant to this article at all. One would think you're just spouting this drivel to get attention...
@therealgamer It's still Feb, calm your tits. No new games? Kirby, Yoshi, Mario Tennis Aces all coming soon. Maybe Metroid, Bayo 3 and even Pokemon might be coming up. Just wait for next Direct or maybe E3. Btw What new First Party games that PS and Xbox already get this year?
I need more info before I judge. The concept is interesting though.
Im currently playing World to the West. Its not perfect but is a good adventure. I have big hopes for this new title.
@therealgamer
No games ?
Then what is that game above ?
A donkey ?
A dwarf ?
A fairy ?
Are you blind ?
I read it as “memester”
Looks pretty generic to me. Not a lot of these indies are “clicking” with me.
Don't listen to Ondore's lies!
I like the concept and music, will be keeping an eye on this.
@therealgamer i disagree. Gal*Gun 2 and Kirby is GOTY .
mesmer, looks interesting. can't wait to see more.
Seems like an interesting premise. With shades of a dr who episode? Anyway, certainly intrigued.
I like Rain Games and its games, and it has little to do with that they’re based in Norway.
Well this is based on the truth
Is the developer trying to tell us something? Even the eye is there. So it's interesting how many will notice.
Yes! Can't wait to overthrow Kim Jong-un!
PS-this is still pretty early in development , so most of the assets seen in the footage here is previz/stuff. hopefully we'll have something playable for gdc!
we're also still working on a patch for wttw switch to fix some frame drops and visual issues, plus finishing up the wii u port.
once we finish a game, we usually put tech folks on porting duties and art/game designers on concept work for a while, so this is mostly implemented by the art staff so far
@therealgamer Bye.
I love the idea that Rain Games is working up, and they clearly have the dev talent to pull it off. After adoring World to the West, I'm eagerly anticipating this one!
Hmm, I don't feel it yet. I have to see more gameplay first.
