THQ Nordic's European distributor Koch Media has confirmed that crime-smashing resource management title This Is The Police is coming to the Switch.
The game is a strategy and adventure game set in the crime-ridden city of Freeburg. You assume the role of Police Chief Jack Boyd - voiced by Jon St. John (Duke Nukem) - and have to tackle a wide range of crimes, assigning officers to certain jobs and facing numerous moral dilemmas along the way. The ultimate aim is to raise $500,000 in 180 days, but you can choose to do that in any way you wish.
Our friends over at Push Square quite liked it, stating that it was "an interesting genre mash-up that offers noir adventure and city management in bite-sized chunks" before awarding it 7 out of 10.
It would seem that the game is going to get a physical release - Vooks has spotted a listing on EB Australia's site, with a release date of September 29th.

Sounds interesting.
"You have the right to remain silent"
Is that a reference to Nintendo's awful voice chat app?
This should at the very least be decent. THQ Nordic are a good publisher and don't release stinkers as far as I'm aware.
I'd honestly take "Papers Please" instead.
That game is addicting!
NICE! This is another one of those third party games that has been on my radar for a while.
Meh.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE lol.
@Tsurii Hinted but not confirmed.
How come something like this is getting a physical release, while Sonic Mania is download only?
Really, really glad this is coming to Switch. Looks like a lot of fun. And Constructor couldn't come soon enough. I'm craving some quirky sim/sandbox games.
NL: You have the right to remain silent.
Me: I choose to waive that right.
WAAAAAAAGGH!!!!! WAAH, WAAAAH!!!
It is like 10 announced games for Switch per day. What is happening? (not that I am complaining)
If I wanted pigs I'd play Farming Simulator
This looks super cool! Should be fun to try to steer away from corruption in the face of adversities.
NintendoLife posted a boring trailer. This one is better:
Looking forward to this
Nice! I always thought this game looked interesting.
@Nintendian Eh, no. The other trailer shows off actual gameplay, whereas the one you posted is just a guy jabbering over a cinematic.
Looks boring.
I just have this to say about the title and subtitle: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZrAYxWPN6c
Now I'm leaving to Youtube.
@TossedLlama Yeah, just a download code even in the collectors edition
lol hard pass.
You have the right to be shot, and have your death covered up by paperwork later...
Intriguing. I'll wait to hear more.
Jumped to the top of my Nindie wishlist instantly.
I'm eager to play something different.
Now that there's a trio of games I really want from the Switch eShop (The Escapists 2, Thimbleweed Park and this) I'm going to get an eShop card.
Or is one of them coming to retail? I think I saw a boxed version for The Escapists 2.
[silence]
The gameplay was moving along at a pretty good clip, but I think I saw options to "keep all the money" and "shoot the unarmed civilian in the face", so I'm assuming this is a sim.
Think I’ll be picking this up. Even if it isn’t your particular interests, it is really great seeing all of these varied gameplay types and devlopsers coming to the Switch!
@Priceless_Spork and then sue the family of the person you killed and win millions in emotional distress money.
You don't have the right to get decent graphics...
This is probably good if you really want to hear John st John
