A fresh week is upon us, and as usual Nintendo of Europe has sent out details for the Download Update that's to come. In truth it's extremely slim pickings this time around, with one new game and some discounts. There's no particularly positive spin we can give, so let's just get on with it.

I love the last choice in the poll.
Nothing for me but I also have no money to spend so this is fine.
Looks like developers are jumping to the Switch quicker than we thought.
Maybe they're saving all the games for the Wii U's 4th birthday, 11 days from now.
Or maybe it'll make Metroid's 25th and 30th Birthday look like the best party ever.
Nothing because there is nothing.
If this is a sign of things to come then I hope it's because with the Nintendo Switch now officially revealed, everyone is moving development over.
It's been said many times in the past,but never has "worst week ever" been more appropriate.
I think Nintendo should start charging us for stability updates.
Haha!
And someone needs to educate PlayEveryWare on the exchange rate for Elliot Quest.
I don't care if developers are moving to Switch, every week I check the updates for the discounts of games already launched. The Switch shouldn't get in the way of price drops.
Another week I save my money... for the Switch LOL
Still waiting for Moon Chronicles to be released in Europe. . .
I can say these discounts are at least better than mynintendo
NES Mini is out this week so in a way i'm not surprised by the lack of downloads. In another way, it's so poor of them.
Wow, even the discounted options are pathetic!! Makes me slightly concerned as I've only got 1 chapter of story left in xenoblade x......who am I kidding, I could still get another 50 or so hours out of that game 😉
@UK-Nintendo Are they though? It's a close call.
i voted shoot the ball just so he won't feel bad. it really looks like kimishina is telling a story. making the 'darkest' part before the dawn really really dark.
I'm not all that surprised with the shortage of deals... with Halloween now over they've probably got several big sale periods planned for the next 2-3 months, so they're probably saving most of their deals for them.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Nah. I'm sure most will agree with me. Everybody will definitely want to get word party as its discounted
@UK-Nintendo Oh man, yeah! GOTY!
@Muqsit I thought I told you to get lost spammer.
@EllenJMiller 4th birthday and last one too
@EllenJMiller @peeks Don't you guys mean anniversary? It died a few years ago.
@LAEER Yeah, and I'm still waiting for Gotta Protectors.
What a joke.
Calm before the 'storm'
Well the comedy in the comments sections is defiantly better than the discounts. Thank you
I think there's a guy that embodies this update:
Fellow Kingdom Hearts fans will get the joke straight away.
In all seriousness, though, I hope the drought is just a build-up to a colossal update in the following weeks. It has already happened in the past and, as @Oubie said, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it were to happen again. Not to mention, well, holiday season is just behind the corner.
@dew12333
You're welcome, that's the point behind the comment section and we all know it, hence my own contribution!
@AlexSora89 Yeah, there are some tasty eShop games still due 'this year', so we could have some good weeks ahead.
Believe!
@ThomasBW84
Besides, we're now less than a month away from a game I've been waiting for a long time. I mean, a game I have and I've been waiting to play on the go for a long time.
Maybe they plan on doing a direct for the nes mini release where they will announce a slew of VC titles for both..........who am I kidding this will be the majority of the updates until March
@AlexSora89 True, and there's the Pokemons with the pocket monsters and the training.
Please, please, please implement a Nintendo Now service like GeForce Now for the Switch. Then we'd have third party software galore, then a decent enough install base for even unsure Capcom to port from Xbone/PS4 and no more weeks like this.
Switch can't be here fast enough lol.
I'm still hoping for Gotta Protectors to make its way over, I swear the eShop reminds me of the 90s again where we would wait month for a game America had already.
i was
waiting for a Halloween discount for Dementium, but i might aswell for that price.
@Sakura Unsure? I guess that describes Capcom
i hope that's not what NA's weekly update will be like. Although we do have Harvest Moon Skytree Village coming tomorrow in NA which is what I'm getting first thing.
@ThomasBW84
I almost forgot about that. Could you believe it? That's how much I want to create stages anywhere.
@TheLZdragon
Reported by My Nintendo News this morning. I think Nlife will probably report on it too. This is from Capcom themselves.
"We are currently carrying out research with regards to multiplatform implementation of software for PS4 and Xbox One on to the Nintendo Switch," it said. “However, we do feel that there are differences in the desired direction and the play-style of the Nintendo Switch and those of the PS4 or Xbox One.
“At Capcom, we determine which platform to release a title for after considering the features of both our software and the hardware in question, believing we must bring the enjoyment of our games to their maximum potential.
"As a software publisher, we endeavour to develop games that offer enjoyment best suited to each piece of hardware's features and target users. Following first party, in order to introduce our own content we are currently moving forward with internal planning and analysis as a partner company."
This is the worst week I've seen in a while. Surely some VC games could have been added, right?
What is this seriously. Oh well look forward to Pokemon Sun and Moon I do.
Sun and Moon cant get here soon enough. Next week for everyone else... two weeks for us brits... Great...
Nintendo Direct announcing GTA 6 as a Wii U exclusive obviously incoming.....
.....and Space Hulk is still overpriced!
Would guess maybe RCMADIAX is the only one vaguely happy with this!
Wait, Dementium Remastered is on the EU eShop?? Why had I not seen that before? Totally getting it as soon as it goes on sale. Shame about the lack of other stuff though.
NES Mini it is then
Lame. Figured Dementium 2 was finally coming out.
faints
Hive Jump, Exile's End, Hollow Knight, Stardew Valley, Earthlock, Mekazoo... A couple of eShop games confirmed for Wii U in 2016. We'll see if they all get released this year.
Ouch. That's gotta sting, Europe.
I think that "SHOOT THE BALL" is one of the funniest game names I've ever come across.
I'm sure there are plenty of games on the eshop that people have wanted but put off until later. The time to download them is now!
Definitely Dementium, it'd be rude not to at that price
wow thats a lame weak
@Sakura Or basically "We will release a few games but will wait until we see how well the machine sells before committing anything major."
Pass this week for me but for those who haven't got these games for the Wii U I would say go for Space Hulk and for the 3ds go for Dementium Remastered.
Instead of this they should have simply canceled this week
Just think, in 3 years, Nintendo will be releasing more phone games annually than handheld or console games.
Then the only Switch you'll hear is Nintendo systems switching off.
@NodesforNoids Sounds like fun
Others have said this before, but this is my first time of saying it....this is the worst week ever. Truly pathetic. When there are no new indie games going on the E-Shop, Nintendo should add at least one or two VC games. Their excuse before has always been that somebody has to take the time to do it. So? Is everybody way too busy doing nothing at Nintendo this Xmas? It doesn't take every bit of manpower and resources you have to launch Pokemon, and we're not getting any new Switch details until January, so this is pathetic and lazy.
guys relax this is all absolutely @TheLZdragon fault
i know it is
I could save a whole €1.30 on Elliot Quest. Huzzahn't!
I've seen worse weeks. Olympia Rising for me!
