While the latest data suggests that Pokémon GO has peaked in terms of popularity, it's still one of the most-played games on the planet right now - as these chaotic scenes from Taiwan attest.
Various sightings in the country have triggered massive stampedes as people rush to catch rare monsters. On one hand, it's a remarkable indication of just how mainstream this piece of software has become, but on the other, it's slightly worrying to see sane people reduced to a herd of wild animals at the slightest sniff of a virtual 'mon.
Have you witnessed any stampedes on this kind of scale yourself, or do you feel that Pokémon GO's grip on the world's smartphone owners is beginning to slip in your region? Post a comment below to fill us in on your thoughts.

All for a gen 1 pokemon! Yeah baby! Hahahahaa
The 3rd video made me laugh a bit with the music.
We are still getting that type of rush in NYC. Not as wild and crazy as last month but still enough to freak out onlookers.
Although it is funny and scary seeing it in person.
I've stopped playing, while it's still fun in short bursts, I'll probably only go back if there is a major update. BUT, it has gotten me to return the ACTUAL pokemon games, finally beat X/Y and I'll probably get ORAS now until we wait for SUMO. The hype is real, but I've moved it back to the mainline series.
@RoomB31
"SUMO"? That's what we're calling Sun and Moon now? Why not just S&M?
...oh.
Different country, different perception about Pokemon GO.
Some of them can embrace the existence while the other denied...
the only main pokemon games i played are black/white and the demo of omega ruby/alpha sapphire and theyre boring but pokemon go is making me thinking of getting sun/moon ... not so sure tho
The world will be better when Pokémon really exist. Everyone with his Pocket monster, a wonderful dream!!!!
A bit scary to watch at first, but also weirdly nice to see the streets being 'taken back' by people.
It's like the world's dorkiest protest march.
Though arguably less about rebellion and more about a questionable obsession with a smartphone app.
Still interesting though.
Still playing but very sparse sessions, I think the game is ok, but I don't have time to keep playing all the time, my cellphone battery sucks and the Pokestops are from my house.
So yeah...but now I can't wait for Sado and Maso!
The zombie apocalypse has finally come! We all thought it would be a mutant virus that turned humanity into the walking dead, but we were wrong... it was Pokemon Go!
@GeminiSaint LOL
What I'd like to know is what mon(s) they were going for?
And I got a Snorlax in my neighbor's backyard. Sigh...
@Acein210 Yeah! Go Gen 1 for causing mass chaos and having the potential to kill people!
I'm very excited for Sun/Moon but I wish it was in development AFTER Pokemon Go came out.
SuMo (S&M?) looks great for old school players but it also looks like more of the same old formula we've had for years. PoGo may not even be a complete game yet but it does have some elements that would be nice to have incorporated into a traditional Pokemon game.
How a company can be associated with such passion and still reviled, snubbed and often ignored is beyond my ken. There there Nintendo, there there.
