As some of you may be aware, the Resident Evil series has had some extensive forays into films. While the live-action ones certainly haven't done too well critically, the two CGI films – Resident Evil: Degeneration and Resident Evil: Damnation – were at least received a little more warmly. Perhaps in an effort to make the best of this situation, Capcom has decided to do a third CGI film, Resident Evil: Vendetta.
Not a whole lot is known about it at this point, but the film is being developed by Marza Animation Planet and it's expected to launch sometime in 2017. Like the first two, this one will be starring Leon Kennedy, but this time around, he'll be frequently sharing the screen with a new costar: the Ducati XDiavel motorcycle. Evidently, there's been some sort of tie-in deal with Ducati, so expect to see a lot of the bike.
What do you think? Did you like the first two CGI films? Will you be watching this? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Okay...I'm not one to hate on Leon Kennedy, I love our once rookie R.P.D. cop n' all, but...
FOR CHRIST'S SAKES, CAN WE GET CHRIS F'N REDFIELD OR JILL VALENTINE THIS TIME PLEASE?!!
Damn it.
Leon Kennedy X Ducati ... very marketable
I guess it's only natural, as there's also a new live-action movie in the works. These ones generally do release close to each other.
I always enjoyed live-action movies more, but I'll probably see this one too. At least once.
More than likely this would be a prequel to another Resident Evil game. I mean the first one was a prequel to 5, and the second was a prequel to 6. And according to some sources Rebecca Chambers will be in the movie.
there was an article a whiles back on nlife about how nintendo should leverage their characters into films. maybe the concept was too ambitious as it was all big screen plans if i recall, while tv series was thinking too small. i think this is a scale that would be more suited to nintendo, capcom, konami, square et al.
taking a page from warner brothers who have regular animated movie releases of their comic book characters from dc, even a lego batman movie coming out next year. howsabout saturating netflix, hulu, amazon (the most likely), itunes, and others with regular movies like this.
having said that, they really ought to do more with these resident evil cgi movies. they literally look like video game cut scenes.
Good Capcom, let Leon get all the good movies.
The animated movies are better than the live action ones. Can't wait to see this.
Looking forward to this. Might watch the first two again over the weekend!
I've never seen the CGI resi movies. Are they good at all?
@Godlike_Virus heck no techno, Chris Redfield had his chance instead he chose steroids and then booze.😉
At least with CGI no more actors will be randomly killed or have their limbs ripped in the set. Nice move.
I do like the CGI films they are not too bad.
I have the second one on blu-ray and it's decent. I've seen the first one as well and I guess it wasn't too bad either. Not masterpieces but worth watching if you really like RE saga.
@Spin Actually?.......Yes. They are actually quite enjoyable! You should at least watch them once.
Ehhh, product placements, while not often too intrusive, annoy me anyway because they take the focus away from the movie itself. I mean, look at how the bike makes up nearly half the poster!
2 Resident 2 Evil
I love v for vendetta
