Before going any further we'd like to make it abundantly clear that this video does contain content which some may consider to be spoilers. If you'd rather experience the wonder shown below for yourself first hand we advise you divert your eyeballs elsewhere.
Although Pokkén Tournament doesn't contain finishing moves such as fatalities from the Mortal Kombat series, it does contain equally ludicrous attacks called Synergy Burst Moves which we detail in our preview of the game. These can be activated by entering Synergy Burst mode and deal horrendous amounts of damage that more often than not result in a KO.
If you fancied a taste of what to expect from these outrageous physical impossibilities make sure you ogle the video below, and once you're done consider subscribing to us on YouTube.

Fatalities are finishers that end a match — The better comparison would be Supers or Ultras or something else along those lines. Every fighter has them, or a variant of them. Fatalities are MK-specific.
It should have been called "Pokken Final Smash Power!"
Nah, I say hold back & save the surprise for yourself when you get the game
So, is this the final character roster, than? Don't get me wrong, the roster is great. I was just hoping for a couple more reveals. Still insanely excited for this game!
You mean supers.
@DarthNocturnal Glad I'm not the only one that thought that lol. That was literally the most DBZ game Death Ball animation ever.
"Fatalities" are usually attacks that can only be performed as a finishing blow that kills your opponent (I'm a fan of Blazblue's Astral Finishes),

These are more like supers, but that's nitpicking.
But does this mean there will at least be the option of Japanese voices on the English console release of Pokken Tournament? The English copy you have seems to have retained the Japanese voices for the Pokemon. If someone is curious as to why some assumed the Pokemon voices would be dubbed over, it's because some of the Pokemon occasionally say their Japanese name, but it's nowhere as obnoxious as the anime where most Pokemon can only say their name over and over.
How can they have a Pokémon fighting game without Geodude?!
Mega Gengar is one crazy Joker!
Should have called them Faintalities.
Shadow Mewtwo is basically Frieza.
Bonkers is right, so brilliantly OTT that they make the majority of Final Smashes look tame in comparison. I love Gengar's and Chandelure's the most myself.
Ahahaha lol lol...
That Shadow MewTwo move was hilarious lol...
@Randomname19
@DarthNocturnal
I thought Mewtwo was always reminiscent of Frieza years before this game came out. Heck, my Mewtwo in FireRed is even called as such!
@wiggleronacid
Yeah, same here. What was the surprise @Ichiban was talking about, anyway? There's no character that hasn't been talked about in pre-release material.
@-DG
That. Was. Brilliant.
Kind of dubious to call Supers a "take on fatalities". I mean, with Street Fighter V out yesterday you'd think you'd try to make a reference to that instead of Mortal Kombat, but whatever.
Tempted to watch the video but I am going to wait for the game to be released so I'll hopefully get that WOW factor.
@AlexSora89 I'm talking about the finishing moves, not the characters themselves. Finishers are some of the best parts of fighting games, be a shame to spoil them for yourself.
Chandelure's Burst sends chills up my spine. Coming up like death reaping a soul, especial since that Pokemon like to steal life force, or is that only Litwick.
Does anyone know if you need that amiibo card to get shadow Mewtwo in the game? I've been thinking of preordering if the card is the only way to get the character (since it's only included in the first run). Otherwise I won't be picking the game up until the end of April.
The general term your looking for is "supers."
@-DG you sir win the comments section
I'm a bit bummed out by the lack of secret characters. But I'm still super excited and am positive that there will be DLC in the games future!
Just curious, do Pokemon types matter AT ALL in this game? Would that Sceptile have some type of advantage over that Suicune for example?
Pikachu's burst move reminds me of kid gokus dragon fist special
Chandelure, u scary.
@Jamester0722 Why would they have Geodude
@japongt No, that would be stupid if it did tbh
@Zombo I can't argue with that. But you know, it's Pokemon so I just had to ask xD.
throws babies at you
Mega Gengar's super is truly terrifying...
All hail the Pokémon version of Frieza!
Shadow mewtwo is amazing. Proper Dragonball moment
Is it wrong this game excites me more than Street Fighter V...... :/
Can't wait do get this on release day
Favourites: Pikachu Libre, Gengar, Chandelure, Charizard, Mewtwo and Shadow Mewtwo.
@DarkKirby I miss when ur avatar was animated lol
Shadow Mewtwo goes freaking DBZ on their asses!
@Zombo Because he is a rock... that punches people in the face!
Shadow Mewtew uses the planet burst ball that Majin Buu has
@Ichiban
Oh, that's fine then. I'm kind of a spoiler hound, so I'm not mad for having seen all the moves; what bugs me, of course, is the initial size of the roster. I'm saying "initial" because there's still hope for DLC, I guess.
So no Jinx in this game?
