Capcom and Nintendo are expanding their legacy of coin-op collaboration with a special version of Mario Party, exclusive to arcades.
Entitled Mario Party Fushigi no Challenge World - which translates as Mario Party Mysterious Challenge World - the game is a 6-player offering which will be shown off at the Japan Amusement Expo on February 19th.
The cabinet has a projector which displays a roulette wheel, while each player has their own touch panel to use. The usual mix of minigames and boss battles will be included, and the game is expected to launch in the Summer in Japan. There's no word on a worldwide release, but we'd imagine it's very likely.

Very interesting, the question burning in my mind is if the board game lasts half an hour or longer.
.........Nintendo and Capcom really are in good terms.....
Nintendo....why don't you buy good ole Capcom? Its the only third party dev I personally love. Sure, I only have played Mega Man and Strider but I still like them enough. Also, they made Ducktales which I like. And remember how well they handled Oracle of ages and seasons despite me not liking much in them? What about Minish cap?
@Socar don't forget that Capcom owns Monster Hunter and Ace Attorney which are series exclusives to Nintendo consoles. They also own Street Fighter which would be nice to see back on a Nintendo home console. Street Fighter V is an exclusive for the PS4 coming this month. Mega Man, Monster Hunter, Ace Attorney and Street Fighter are some premium names.
Ohhh I'd love to try it. I LOVE Mario party series. Except the gba one of course 😉
Those arcades better be sturdy. They're going to take a few beatings from the friendship-ruining gameplay!
@Nintendofan83 Street Fighter V is also coming on Steam as well so its not an exclusive.
I feel as though if Capcom is owned by Nintendo, I have a feeling that we won't see people complain as often as now simply because they own Capcom.
@Socar Because that would mean Nintendo spending money on a good positive thing that could actually help them in the future. Also Capcom has been seeing its profits rise due to recent releases such as Monster Hunter titles and the Resident Evil remasters. Essentially this means Capcom may soon be too expensive.
However I do think Nintendo really needs to buy some developers that can bring more varied games to the NX.
@FragRed For got about Resident Evil! Those are great games, too.
@Socar I was mainly talking about consoles. PC is a bit different so that's why I didn't mention that version. You are right, though.
Wouldn't Smash Bros Arcade make alot more sense?
@DreamyViridi
Mmm, just imagine what would happen if someone lost at the last turn due to Chance Time.
@Socar i noticed that too. i also noticed that every resident evil game from 5 onwards has run on mt framework, capcom's in-house platform. their next-gen in-house platform is called panta rhei, but the next resident evil game runs on unity instead, the preferred dev platform for the wii u.
This has to be better than Mario Party 10, at least.
Waiting for the inevitable "Luigi wins by doing nothing videos".
Wonder if this means playable Capcom characters, like Megaman, Zero, and Ryu.
You guys do know there are more arcade Mario Party games, right?

And there is more than that too. Following the pattern of those, I'm not expecting a western release. But if we do, hey, I'm happy to be wrong.
Arcades used to be about finishing your turn as quickly as possible so the next acne pocked youth can smash your pitiful score. Usually while you tried in vain to get the sand out from between your toes. That's my experience, anyway
"Bringing Mario Party to Japanese Arcades" is not how I would put it, considering many Mario Party games have been released in arcades since the early 2000s in Japan, and seeing as none of them have been released outside of Japan, I wouldn't get my hopes up for this one getting localized.
Very interesting. While it still doesn't look a true Mario Party game, I have to say still looks more entertaining than 9, 10, and Island Tour.
@DreamyViridi
Lol XD
Huh. A Mario Party arcade game? That... could be interesting.
