In preparation for the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire later this week, The Pokémon Company has released an update for its digital storage box, Pokémon Bank.
All 3DS owners who own a copy of Pokémon Bank can download the update from the eShop or through the software itself. A total of 210 blocks of free space is required.
Below are the following amendments made to version 1.2 of Pokémon Bank:
- This update allows users of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to use Pokémon Bank
- Various bugs have been fixed in order to provide a smoother gaming experience
Let us know in the comments if you have noticed anything else different about Pokémon Bank since the update was issued, and if you’ll be putting the service to use with the latest entries.

Cue caught Pokémon music.
Still kind of useless to me if they don't add touch screen support.. Moving hundreds of Pokemon by arrows and A button sure is convenient...
Well that's gud then!
@Liam_Doolan You should be ostrasised for that pun.
Well thats good for all my non mega evolving pokemon , now to just go pester my friend for their 3DS so I can transfer my ones with mega stones.
Is it still available for $5? My kids messed around with it for the free week but decided it wasnt worth the $5 to them. Its a year later and they havent mentioned it except wanting to know if it would work with the new games, so maybe they'll get it now.
@AlexOlney I can never resist a good Pokémon pun.
@rjejr In my opinion it's only worth it if you like to breed competitive pokemon for online battle and trading so you can keep them for future games and/or if you want a complete pokedex in it so that you only have to catch any new pokemon that they release. I like to breed/battle and I got a complete pokedex in the bank, so it's worth it for me
Woo, I downloaded it! Can't wait to get Alpha Sapphire next week!!
>w<
Definitely not going to look up the spoilers XD
Waiting for the patch that lets us transfer in held items.
Wooo! Can't wait! I'll download it right away.... then wait until the 28th to use it. :'/
@Mineral - Thanks. I'm pretty sure my kids don't breed their Pokemon, they just like finishing the story mode and fighting against each other and getting those free Pokemon gifts at Gamestop. Guess that's why they don't care. And they're young enough that $5 still means something to them, they'd rather spend that $5 on a $4 booster pack for the physical cards.
I just want a "Sort by national dex number" feature.
Search 'moves' would be handy too. Plus being able to view a Pokemon's info without having to visit the box they're in, thereby losing the search results u just did.
i think that the Pokemon bank is stupid. they should have made it , to save on the 3ds it self. When i used my gameshark so export my game save data on the gba , it was around a mega byte of data. My 3ds had a 32 gig SD card on it.so storage is not a problem and could have made the transfer app work on the 3ds only not needing a sever to do it.
