Is it happening soon?
Best Nintendo e3 in a long long while!
Yep. Still hoping for some extra big news though. This was either gonna be bad or huge. To give a real boost they could do with one if not 2 brand new huge reveals befire the end of the week, hopefully that previously unannounced slot tomorrow is just such a game. If not, i don't think there's enough here to be heard above PS4 for the next 13 months.

You guys should totally do more videos.
I was blown away, by the way. Can't wait to hear more about the games that didn't make the presentation, like Miyamoto's stuff.
BEST E3 EVER!
I'm still hoping for another character reveal
Can somebody please tell me if there is an additional Digital Event for the 3Ds? Or was that all (only those eshop games and PL vs PW)? Where is Majora's Mask. They got the engine from Ocarina of Time 3D and the texts from the 64 version. Why are they not delivering what the people want?
Regarding the WiiU, I was so hoping for a new Metroid. The only thing I am interested in is Bayonetta 1+2 and the Zelda game that is getting released 2015. Hyrule Warriors looks ok (Dynasty Warriors with Zelda Skins) . X would be interesting, but I totally dislike the faces of the characters (... like Xenosaga...), I really would not want to see them for a longer time. I guess there is no hope that they use a different character design for the mature western market. (^_^)
And this Amiibo, man if I would still be like 8 or 10 I would go crazy, but yeah... that is a long time ago. Guess I no longer belong to Nintendo's target group.
My feeling watching Nintendo's presentation was "You better are a big Smash Bros fan or very young to really appreciate it".
And how long do WiiU owners got to wait until the next Major release? 4 months? For me that just means that I can still wait with a WiiU purchase until the release of the Zelda title, as I am not missing out on much until then (for me personally Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong and MK8). I know they do not want to just publish games before they are truly ready but it also means that they cannot make good use of the momentum they got from Mario Kart 8. Just my humble opinion, but who knows maybe I am wrong.
In about 20 minutes, Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 will be broadcast.
Really enjoyed it. Hope they show off a little more of Zelda U.
WHAT ABOUT VIRTUAL CONSOLE?
I saw most of the presentation. I had to leave for lunch during Nathan, & Krista's(or is it Crysta?) banter before the MP10 trailer/footage. Btw, I won't spam it, but I'll say it again: Krista can punch my ticket!
I'm excited for Smash(what else is new?), l loved the Mario Maker, & I really liked the Yoshi game. Also liked the Capt. Toad game. Yoshi looked similar to Yoshi's Island, really hope it is exceptionally similar!
I was disappointed a little to be honest. The Yoshi and Kirby games do not interest me at all. I'm kind of interested in Captain Toad and Splatoon. The Captain Toad levels in 3D World were fun but I can't imagine a full retail game which has me believing that it's a eshop only game. Splatoon doesn't seem to have the depth to keep me coming back for more. I'm really excited about Mario Maker. The 8 year old me has been dreaming about this game since he was hand drawing Mario Levels on paper. On paper it seems like a lot of games but in reality it's not much at all considering that some of these games will get pushed into 2016.
I thought it was great. The new LoZ looks amazing (I couldn't take my eyes off the screen), I'm really excited for Mario Maker (Though I hope, in the final version, they have a Super Mario World skin), Splatoon looks like a fun game, The Mii-fighter actually made me interested in that character, however, I'm still not sure about using the AMIIBOs...
Devils Third also looks like a good FPS. Captain toad's adventure looks like it could be fun, I am going to assume it won't be priced as a full game.
I'm glad they used the sarcastic-clever humour with the Robot Chicken animations.
@Heng-Yu I'm surprised you feel that way about most of those games (I agree with you about Amiibo).
Overall it was a very good and im excited over most of the games they showed especially the Bayonetta 2 bundle
I really enjoyed it, interested in almost everything that was shown, Splatoon caught my eye. Little disappointed too though, If I'm honest: where's Metroid and do we just have smash and pokemon for 3ds this year? Smash is being developed by Sora/Bandai Namco and Pokemon by Gamefreak, what are Nintendo's internal studios up to with regards to the 3ds?
I'm excited about everything but the GameCube controller adapter. Why even bother, I'd way rather have more colors of the WiiU Pro Controller to choose from!
Nintendo's presentation was simply terrible. New announcements were boring, old games like Xenoblade X slated for 2015. Zero confidence in Wii U's future.
@Williaint: There may be more skins added later. I would totally take a SMB3 skin.
@bofis: Nintendo needs to work on that issue of colors. I'm sure they could figure out a good way to release colors, & save special editions for appropriate releases.
Something I haven't seen mentioned: in the skits, there was a fan who kept haggling Reggie. Some of his lines were "another Mario?", "where's Star Fox?" and "Give me Mother 3!". Well, Reggie confirmed that there's no new main Mario game, and we all know Star Fox is coming. So could that mean...?
I'm afraid of even typing it out. So I'll just cross my fingers.
I thought it was really good - my negative comments the past hour scattered throughout these boards to the contrary.
Yes, it is kid focused, it's a show about Nintendo videogames what do you expect? Yet - SSB played by all, Bayonetta 1 and 2 - rated M, XC:X - not a kids game, Zelda for all.
They did a good job focusing on Wii U over 3DS, which is getting SSB and Pokemon OR and AS in Oct and Nov so what else does it need?
It was funny and mostly well paced. The 2 hour Sony show last night dragged in the middle for 30 minutes, ask anyone.
Splatoon was completely new, IP and all, Kirby gets a new claymation game. Yoshi's Yarn Planet returned. Nintendo will have NFC toys now. Zelda U was both cel-shaded yet beautiful, lush alive and open world so let the arguments commence.
I'm not sure what else they could have done. SSB Wii U really needs to release by Dec 27th though (Sunday after Christmas when GCs will be spent and many an unwanted gift returned for something better), and especially now w/ the toys in tow. XC:X and Zelda were never releasing this year. Hyrule Warriors and B1 + B2 are.
Thought it was great, but want to hear any sort of news about a Metroid game with online features of hunters, Kid Icarus and Luigi's Mansion
It was perfect, only metroid was missing, but its coming eventually, my Wii U purchase feels completely justified, bought it on launch day, didn't really like it until the update with the quick start menu , its a completely different system now, also really enjoying the gamepad controls for Pikmin 3, the system feels a whole now, Xenoblade coming in 2015 is kind of a let down though, very hyped for bayonetta and can't wait for Kirby Rainbow Curse,
Paulatena looks like she can really do some serious damage in smash !
My 11 year old son, 9 year old daughter and myself all LOVED IT! We are excited about the future of Nintendo. We have a Wii U and 2 3DS Xl's, and we can't stop talking about the games we are going to get for both.
We also have a Xbox 360 and PS3 and there was nothing presented by Microsoft or Sony that makes us even want a PS4 or Xbox One.
Knock it off with the insults and profanity — TBD
Sorry but that was disappointing.
So far this E3 (Nintendo) was disappointing and I was not expecting that much. But they didn't do a bad job there.
Great E3 this year.
I am satisfied. They are doing something I felt needed done and creating a library that spans genres but with a Nintendo twist. I am not interested in all of them, but there are plenty that I am interested in. They are going full in on both Miiverse and Gamepad integration
Plus, their new "amiibo" initiative looks not to be aping Skylanders or Disney Infinity but doing it's own thing. To be able to train up a CPU player to be more intelligent competition (especially in games like Mario Party) will be nice and will take the Luigi Death Stare phenomenon to a whole new level. Plus it can sort of be like Pokemon for video games (Link, I choose you to bash the brains out of his Samus brawl fighter).
Overall I am excited, but this E3 has shown that my small gaming budget is going to be squeezed over the next year and a half.
I'm definitely happy with Nintendo's conference but they could have been overshadowed if it seemed like Microsoft or Sony tried. They both relied too heavily on pseudo-exclusive content for 3rd party games and neither had a big winner although there conferences were ultimately both good.
The games are definitely there for Nintendo and it was nice to see them focus on gameplay over CG. Star Fox and the two other projects from Miyamoto may seem pretty basic but they're probably bounds ahead of most of the announcements we saw from other companies who only showed cutscenes of their games.
Of course, seeing firm graphics and direction for the a new Zelda is always amazing and it's nice to see Hyrule Warriors start to come into its own too and surprises like Splatoon, Mario Party 10 and whatever else they throw at us before the end of E3 (probably just one more Smash character and whatever mystery 3ds game they've been hiding).
Doesn't matter what anyone else says. It was a whole lot better than last year, it was way better than 2011, 2010, 2009 .....
Anyone expecting a whole lot more is living in cloud cuckoo land.
@Hotfusion It is easy to say you are going to do something sometime ages in the future. (Then delay again as is the common thing to do). There is basically nothing until October so far.
I thought it was a great show!
I'm only sad we have no games to play (WiiU) until September 26th
Even some VC input would be nice right now, or some HD versions of whatever
My PS3 bores me to hell, I want to give you my money Nintendo Godamit!!!!
Holy crap, I never thought I'd see the day Nintendo would actually win E3 by a large margin, and yet, that day has come.
Holy CRAP that was a good E3 presentation this year!
Don't forget about Pushmo World June 19, Shovel Knight June 26, and Wii Sports Club (retail) July 25
Not to mention all the Capcom VC games on the way soon, and whatever Nintendo brings over the next 12 weeks. And we JUST got Mario Kart.
@unrandomsam I agree, but sometimes saying something is better than saying nothing at all, which was pretty much what they did years past.
Overall it was great! Disappointed Gamecube was not announced for VC and I really don't like the art style of the new Zelda.
Anybody having a hard time hearing the guys? Are they using mics or just gonna shooting the breeze?
I've said the same thing on a few posts. Overall, I am very excited about the games I saw. The Zelda trailer alone blew me away! I'm happy with the quality of games on the way. I'm just disappointed that many of the games shown are slated for a 2015 release and could very well be pushed to 2016. Nintendo needs momentum right now and they finally got it with MK8. I'm not sure Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta 2 will keep that up until we get to the holiday season in 2014. Time will tell.
@JaxonH You mention a puzzle game and VC games, I mean...with no 3rd party support there's not a lot left, is there?
I love them, now would be the perfect time to bring some HD GCN or N64 goodies
@Desy64
Not alot left? Idk, it's more than my Xbox One and PS4 has in that same time frame combined, so...
And Shovel Knight isn't VC btw. It's a Nintendo eShop exclusive (on consoles, think it's on PC too but whatever). But look, a good game is a good game. I don't care if it's an eShop exclusive or a retail release. If it's good then it's good. Entertainment is entertainment, regardless of whether it comes in a box or not. And I'm more excited for Shovel Knight (and I'd wager it's not just me here) than many full retail releases.
@JaxonH well, back to mastering those Mario Kart tracks
@Desy64
Least we have Mario Kart tracks to master. I've got an Xbox One console with ZERO games on it til the end of October. And a PS4 with nothing to look forward to but a port of The Last of Us. Count your blessings, it could be worse. Much worse.
You have all 3? Must be nice!
@Nintendofan83
Bought a Wii U at launch in Nov 2012. Then a year later I bought a PS4 at launch in Nov 2013. And I JUST got my Xbox One yesterday when the Kinect-less version released. Also have both handhelds.
Sounds like alot, but when you buy them all at different times spaced years apart, it's not hard to do if you really want. I'm not rich by any means- just an average dude with an average salary. Like I said, anyone can do it if they really wanted to, key is to not try and do it all at once.
That's true. I suppose $400 bucks a year isn't that bad when it's spaced out. The Wii U is my first console in quite a while so when I bought it, I naturally bought extra controllers, accessories, games etc. I got them in a short span of time so it seemed to build up. I've had a 3DS for years and take it everywhere.
@Nintendofan83
Ya, I always buy accessories too. Gotta have two of every controller and a charge base for every system ya know? But for any additional accessories I wait a while until my cash reserves are back in good standing.
Wii U in particular has a wide arrange of accessories. Figure two Pro Controllers, two Wiimotes, two Nunchuks, two Gamecube controllers (and adapter), extended gamepad battery, rapid charge, external hard drive... yeah you're looking at quite a hefty chunk of cash actually...
E3 was great. Granted I didn't have a problem with it last year either but this one really blew it out of the water. We got a focus on WiiU games which is what we needed. So some games are coming next year...sony and microsoft have the same issue.
The bayonetta combo is a great way to attract newcomers and is a nice package for those that want to revisit the title. I'll likely dump my 360 copy when it comes out. I'm stoked about kirby and yoshi, I loved canvas curse and epic yarn and more of that art direction is fine by me.
Splatoon looks pretty interesting and I rabidly loathe multi-player shooters. I can't wait for that to drop.
The amiibo figurines are a really nifty idea (been waiting on this since melee to be honest I remember being so mad when Activision came out with it first) and it feels like pokemon turned on its ear a little bit (which could be really cool). I've just started collecting figma as well so that also likely shades my excitement.
Captain Toad levels are some of my favorites in 3d world so just like pushmo world I'm happy to explore more of that. Action-Puzzles never get enough love IMO.
Will be buying my first mario party just for the Bowser jerk mode. Ruining friendships one board at a time.
Will be buying retail wii sports club on day one. Can't wait for boxing.
Hyrule Warriors has been cemented as a day one purchase for me from the gameplay videos.
Smash is a given and while I was hoping for an earlier date (October is PACKED this year if you have multiple systems) the direct plus the footage today has cemented my purchase of both versions.
I'm so glad that there is a new starfox...I''m glad that the people that like that franchise will get a new title.
I'll be picking up the natsume rpg and I'm hoping devil's third will be the Ninja Gaiden black of the wiiu. Let's face it the other modern Ninja Gaiden sequels weren't as good and the first one reached its peak with black.
2015 is going to be pretty packed and that bodes well for the future of the system. Plus with a number of the heavy hitters out of the way I'm hoping that nintendo will revisit titles like Punch out, FE (not the crossover...although I'm getting that too) and their arcade sports franchises (like wave race). Quite frankly if you like nintendo games this is a great time to own the system.
Also did anybody else laugh during the Zelda clip when that farmer lady in the distance ran outta there when Link was under attack? "Hyrule is so peaceful...oh gotta go!"
And now is when the indies light a fire under people's butts by getting their games out there. Honestly, Ubisoft could start their little push now with their withhheld title, but that's not how they do things. We all saw the schedule. We all knew Nintendo had focused this quarter squarely on MK8. Early Wii boom sales slowed HD development but Nintendo seems to be getting in gear. I bought this system day one. Eight hours into that first day, my system was updated and I was enjoying Nintendoland's Pikmin attraction with my significant other.
Since then, I've enjoyed a host of Wii games, something I passed on last generation, some great retail titles, a few average ones and a slew of eShop offerings. From Arkham City, Lego City Undercover and Super Mario 3D World to Little Inferno, Child of Light and Ittle Dew, it sure has been a tumultuous journey.
But I'm just a gamer. With a young family and bigger responsibilities than 'When is X coming out?' or 'Why is there no Metroid?'
Providing food, clothing and shelter are my only priorities. Gaming is a luxury, not just in money but in time spent. I have spent over 1200$ on gaming since the Wii U came out and not just on the Wii U. But I didn't choose Nintendo because they're cheaper. I chose them BECAUSE they have less options. With more options, I'd have to cut down my choices and I want to experience The Devil's Third, Hyrule Warriors, Zelda, Bayonetta, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Kirby and Yoshi. I love the classics and enjoy many indies. I just don't like having to wade through the garbage.
If I'd had a PS3, maybe I would have purchased Lords of Shadow 2. Or Knack on the PS4. Or, hey, even Titanfall on the XB1. I'm just saying, with Nintendo, you know the primary games are coming. And you can always expect some surprises. That's all I'm looking for.
People act like pro gamers, buying 2-3k$ sets to make their games react faster or super high end headphones and it's just so much. I hate gaming but I love games. I hate the fact that people get so involved with the business side of companies like it's their business but I love the passion. I hate that gaming follows trends and love when a new twist stirs things up. And I hate how the image on the screen has been trumped by what's in the box, but I still can't wait to see what's next.
Whether open world, expansive and epic or a single screen showdown, bring it on!
@JaxonH
Yep nothing on Xbox one/PS4 till end of october.... except
Destiny - 9th Sept
EA Sports UFC - 20 June
FIFA 15 - 15th Sept
Shadow Of Mordor - 7th Oct
Metro Redux - 29th Aug
The Evil Within - 29th Aug
Sniper Elite 2 - 29th June
So apart from those 7 titles theres nothing at all coming out in the next 4 months for Xbox One& PS4. As opposed to the Wii U which has almost nothing coming out until Smash Brothers.
@Flashman
Can we please not turn this into a fanboy pissing contest?
No need to get all defensive man, I HAVE several of those games pre ordered. But some of them I don't care about and am not buying, so what do I care about a game like UFC or FIFA? And I don't do online only.
And I'm not buying any of those games on X1 anyways because I buy all my multiplats on PS4. MY first game on X1 will be Sunset Overdrive. And yeah I'm buying Shadow of Mordor in OCTOBER, a game that's far from a new announcement. Which is the crux of the matter. Hardly anything new announced for PS4, at least MS have me some GOOD exclusives. The only new exclusive Sony gave me was Little Big Planet 3. I HATE Little Big Planet. And yeah, I'm a little ticked off about that.
Furthermore, I said in the same time frame as Hyrule Warriors, and in that time frame the only games I'm buying on PS4 or X1 is Metro Redux. One game. Oh, and LoU Remastered. Two games. And that wad my point. Got people complaining about games when there ain't much on ANY console.
You don't have to "defend the honor" of Sony. My comment want a fanboy cheap shot meant to insult MS/Sony, it was a comparative statement to explain why there is no need for lineup whining
@JaxonH I wasn't defending sony nor am I a sony fanboy as I don't own a PS4. I own a Wii U, which is coming increasingly close to being sold.
Playing another video with sound while talking is very annoying. Quit watching this video after 5 min.
Not a bad show. Gave me good vibes. Showed enough stuff to be happy. But it was the Treehouse Live made it much stronger. Zelda is gorgeous, and I really want Splatoon. Finally; an online multiplayer game I want to play. Pity the only thing they have lined up right now is Smash and Amiibo toys. I do hope there won't be scarcity.
