Helix is one of the most innovative music-rhythm games ever designed for the Wii console. Use the Wii Remote™ controller to do dozens of exciting moves, including punches, circles, back fists, hooks and more. Be mesmerized by the eye-popping background visuals, which pulse to the beat of the music. Enjoy incredible replay value with 26 songs to play and three difficulty levels. Try to unlock all of the songs. This game is great for getting exercise plus having fun. No buttons are required, so it’s easy for anyone to pick up but difficult for even the best players to master.
We'll have the review for Helix up as soon as possible. You can read our interview with Ghostfire from back in June to help you make up your mind if you don't want to wait for our review.
The US also received two new additions to the Virtual Console service in Samurai Shodown II and Ys Book I & II. If Helix doesn't suit your tastes, we're sure you'll love either one of these two amazing Virtual Console releases.

No Super Mario RPG?! ah well, all of the games this week look good.
Helix does look good - I envy you America. Ph, and SMRPG probably won't be out in America for a bit since it came out here as part of the Hanabi Festival which you peoples don't have. Wait your turn and don't get too excited about games which may not even be coming out.
Also, when is Plattchen going to be released?
Hopefully, we'll get Helix this Friday anyways.
Were you seriously expecting Mario Rpg? o_o
Helix looks to be fun and I buy it. Problem is I'd have to buy batteries for my second Wii-Mote.
I'm hoping for Midnight Pool and Gyrostarr this friday. If at least one of them comes out, I'm satisfied.
Actually, finally getting Gyrostarr would be nice. What happened to all the rubbish that the US got months ago anyway? Where's the EU versions of VIP Casino, Family Table Tennis and Critter Round Up? We seem to get more new-new releases than old-new releases at the moment (eg StrongBad and My Aquarium out within days of the US as well as Wild West Guns out before the US). I'm not complaining, I'm just curious
Also, why does VC-Reviews' new releases story get more replies than on WWW? In half an hour we get six comments, and they get almost 30!
I think this trend of fitness games will continue to grow.
@ Tony: As long as the games are good, it doesn't really matter. If we just get more Sports Island etc like in retail, that won't be good at all.
I need to know the music on this game before I purchase it.
@cartoty: they have a track list on the website if that helps, and the videos no doubt feature some of the music.
This game would be kinda cool if it had quality looking control, but this looks like an arm swing simulator,lol
Thanks wiiloveitonline!!!
@WiiLoveIt
I really think the volume of comments has to do with what's going on on each site. I agree that VC-reviews has been a generally deader site recently, but with the release of SMRPG, the site saw a lot of comments. I think over 200 in one day.
Hey, this is Ed Roman from Ghostfire Games.
Thanks for the comments guys. Needless to say we're super excited that our first game is launching today, and we hope you guys enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed making it.
The Europe version of Helix is ready and should be out very soon. As soon as I have a date I will post it.
Review Please!!!!
We should have our review ready by sometime on Wednesday, patience child
@BuzzDee - I heard that only geeks and otaku want Super Mario RPG.
Ah, who am I kidding? NOA better get the lead out!
well i dont even have 2 wiiremotes 1 broke because of my friend so i cant buy this one
You can still play the game with 1 Wii Remote. Its just not quite as enjoyable.
No thanks. Maybe Aquarium will come out next week. Hopefully next week we'll get vectorman and mario rpg to shut me and everybody up.
Needless to say we're super excited that our first game is launching today, and we hope you guys enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed making it.
Besides Helix 2, Im excited to see what other neat ideas you have brewing! Thanks for the Developer Insight video by the way, I spammed it to a bunch of people on my Buddy List when Helix's date was announced and most of them are buying it, planning to buy it, or arent buying it but think its a really cool idea anyway.
Awesome!
@battledevil789
i have 2 wiimotes, but the one i got at launch i a pain in the ass. it will sync and unsync randomly. i works better if you turn rumble and sound off, but still, ugh.
I wish good luck to you Ed and Ghostfire Games. From the look of it, I rather games like Helix be successful than games like SPOGs or Pong Toss because it looks like you and your group has put a lot of thought and work into Helix.
As for whether I'm getting it, lets just say I'm in the group with the rest of the gamers waiting for a review on Helix. I hope it is as good as you say. =)
I've added some thoughts on the game page. Watch out for our review in the next few days. Its probably safe to say if you are a fan of music rhythm games that you are going to get a kick out of this.
After reading the description at the Wii Shop, it actually sounds pretty cool! If only I had the points...
I only have one wiimote so i'm going to pass on this game.
I wanted to wait for the review but I'm glad I didn't. I've only played a few songs but those few were a lot of fun! The controls are really simple to learn and it actually gives you a little workout. I like the colorful backround visuals and awesome music.
Great job Ed and everyone at Ghostfire! I'm looking forward to your next title.
Sad there is no SMRPG =(
But maybe next week.. plus.. Helix doesn't seem like my kind of game.
The biggest thing holding me back is that you need 2 wiimotes to really play the game. Thats another $40. But if i get another wiimote than i might get this.
Sorry for the double post, but kudos to Ghostfire for not screwing us with DLC and giving us like 26 songs "out of the box"!
Helix is a lot of fun! The music is great and the calibration feature really does make it a lot easier to play and much more accurate than it would have been without it. I'm going to play some more of it, but so far I've been extremely impressed with this WiiWare title. Kudos to Ed and the guys at Ghostfire games. Very fun!
Helix seems very interesting but I think I'm going to pass for now.
I'm really looking forward to Super Mario RPG and My Aquarium, which should be released soon. On top of this I have a few games that I haven't gotten around to downloading, such as Star Parodier and Strong Bad.
Part Tae Bo, part Space Channel 5, part DDR, and add the music of a European rave and you get this. I'm enjoying it very much. Worth the 1,000 points.
Soooo... When's the review gonna be up?
@ Comment 36 - Wednesday
I was thinking of waiting for the official review, but from what you guys are saying I may jump the gun and get it anyway.
I love this game! I really like the music too. This game was great when I went to my friends house today.
I haven't bought the game, but I have been interested in its gameplay since I first heard about it. Why don't people want it? It looks amazingly fun.
I stopped playing after an hour. My arms started to hurt. Definitely has that Wii Boxing effect going on there. Still a great game.
yaaay good player reviews! I might get it tonight or tomorrow
It helps my ninja reflexes! lol
"It helps my ninja reflexes! lol"
Now I have to get it!!!
Its to bad Helix didn't use the Wii balance board. It would be a lot better with it. Waving your arms all the time just hurts your muscles...
Hmm, the more comments I read, the more I'm considering this...
I'll just wait for the review though =X
"SMRPG probably won't be out in America for a bit since it came out here as part of the Hanabi Festival which you peoples don't have."
They don't need to wait for a Hanabi Festival since its a game native to their country.
From what I've seen of this game, I thinking a 9/10.
Seriously, It Looks AMAZING!
This is probably the 1st wiiware game thats made the most the motion controls for sure, nice background while the music is playing and it looks incredibly fun!
My Mum actually wanted to play it (Which is a miracle, since she doesnt play on the wii at all), so well done so far ghostfire games!
This game should be a 9/10, if its not, then the person who reviewed it must be blind and deaf.
Do you know when it'll be out here?
Looks really fun but if I download it I'll only have 24 blocks left.
this is by far the best wiiware title yet and if you don't have it get it NOW
@Digiki:
If you need more space, you can always delete an old wiiware or VC game. You can re-download ones you've purchased, for free:

@ConradHex
Well I knew that it's just I don't really want to delete anything right now, and I think it's realistic to assume that Nintendo will have a storage solution around or before Christmas
@Mr. Chippy
have you even played it yet? i give it a 7/10.
Helix is amazing and is a steal at 1000 Wii points.
@Dijiki: I don't think that that's realistic at all. In fact, I'd be very surprised if something is available by then (unless they release an update via WiiConnect24 allowing you to play straight off an SD card or memory stick). One can still hope though.
