And here's where you can buy the game in the UK, with some options already well below RRP:
Pre-Order The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Special Edition On Switch
Nintendo has revealed the special edition release pictured above, which is exclusive to the My Nintendo Store. It includes package artwork from Masatsugu Saito, a full-colour 250-page+ hardcover art book and a steel case. Pre-orders opened a while back in the US, but have since sold out.
Pre-orders will also go live across Europe at a later date, after the game has released. Interestingly, because of the delay, Nintendo plans to let you buy the special edition contents separately so that you can still buy the standalone game now and play at launch.
"Due to unforeseen logistical challenges, we are unable to open pre-orders for the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector’s Edition before the game launches on July 29th. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
To give customers the flexibility to purchase and enjoy the game at launch, we will now be offering the contents of the Collector’s Edition (soft cover concept art book, steel case and outer box packaging) as a separate purchase at a price that does not include the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 software.
This means you can buy the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 game when it launches on July 29th, and have a chance to pre-order the Collector’s Edition contents on My Nintendo Store later in September."
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass
The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass includes access to four waves of DLC, all due to be released by the end of 2023. If you want to buy a Pass, you can grab a code below.
Were There Any Pre-Order Bonuses For Xenoblade Chronicles 3?
Pre-orders from GAME or ShopTo came with the post card set pictured above. You can also get the postcard bundle from Amazon UK, but only through this link. (Make sure to double check that these retailers still have the post cards in stock before buying!).
Pre-orders made at My Nintendo Store UK also came with a free A4 notebook (if stock is still available post-launch, you'll see it appear when you go to the checkout).

That box art on the special edition 😍
Just waiting on the LE to open pre-orders.
Having recently finished XC Definitive recently, all set for this.
That is unless there was any story-driven extra content added to XC2 outside of the Torna expansion.
And Scalper BotNet is just salivating over this for eBay.
Any idea how to get that Special Edition in Colombia (South America), as far as I know My Nintendo Store only ships to US and Canada.
I have all the others, really don't want to miss this one.
Mildly disappointed on the special edition, was hoping for a sword figurine to come with the bundle. Might just skip and go with the standard edition or maybe just the steelbook
I really hate the idea of special/limited editions being exclusive on My Nintendo Store. I've had a lot of issues with them ever since they swapped from the Hut Group to whatever they are using, the customer support is terrible, they try multiple times to charge my card for orders which I remember placing, but cannot visibly view in my orders, and the website functionally is a mess.
I sincerely hope that if future limited/special editions are exclusive that they fix their ****.
I can't wait for this game and to see what comes next in this saga.
I'm still only half-way through the first game but I love collecting these games.
Crying with Happiness right now!!
I am so hyped they moved up release a couple months.
I'll be stalking the Nintendo page for that special edition. I have the special editions for Xeno1 and Xeno2, this will look lovely on my shelf as a full trilogy.
Can you use eshop gift card balance on the nintendo store?
I didn't see it in the article, but in case anyone wants to know, the digital download size is 14.6GB according to the eShop.
Still hoping for an eventual port of Xenoblade Chronicles X on Switch, but I'm definitely picking up 3 in July.
Never played the first two games, but this special edition and the good things i’ve heard about this series gonna make me pick this game up
I started Xenoblade Chronicles 3D a couple of weeks ago. I’m genuinely worried I may not now finish in time for XC3…
Apparently you can buy the art book by itself from the Japan store if you wish and missed out on the LE.
I need the limited edition. Gah, does anyone work for Nintendo Europe and could let me know when it will be available, please. Promise I won't tell anyone else
@MS7000 I've never had an issue with it
@Krull isn't it insane that they got that game on the 3DS??
@Browny I’m right there with you (including the XBCX special edition) and I just have this sneaking suspicion that they’re all gonna be gone within minutes after going live and I’ll be ass out with nowhere to turn but eBay for twice the price 😵💫
@Nameless_Shame
I doubt that, to be honest. Can't imagine this game has such appeal that they'll run out of special editions that quickly.
Need that Special Edition.
So happy about the new release date as long as it's not rushing it. I'm glad this takes the style of xenoblade2 since I much preferred that one. Just found the story, music and unique voice-overs fantastic.
Surprising there's no soundtrack. I'm not expecting another vinyl but even 2 had a CD soundtrack in its special edition.
I'll try to snag the Special Edition, but if not, the standard will still be a day 1 purchase. Can't wait.
@Nameless_Shame Well actually Amazon and Play-Asia and Gamestop had the LE/CE for the last two even after My Nintendo sold out. I wouldn't worry.
The Listing on Nintendo NA was removed..????? For the SE did someone at Nintendo NA do a OOPS>>>
@Angelic_Lapras_King Same here. Especially since, it would appear, the European SE's artbook will actually be softcover like for the previous two games. But no CD was shown, which is incredibly disappointing.
I just hope it won't be locked to My Nintendo in Europe as well. I'd have to import it, probably either from the UK (which is gonna be a pain) or Germany...
Standard is up in my Nintendo and changed the register interest to the collectors edition
For those who have reserved "Xenoblade 3 Collector's Edition", only the software will be delivered on the release date (7/29) first.
The benefits of "Xenoblade 3 Collector's Edition" ("Xenoblade 3 Nintendo Switch Card Case Steel Book Specification", "Original Art Book" Xenoblade 3 Collected Works ", outer box) are scheduled to be shipped after the fall of 2022
Translated from jp my Nintendo’s store I hope it’s not the same worldwide, obviously didn’t expect it to be shipping so soon, like there’s no communication between departments
In general RRP’s are dropping quickly across all gaming. I bought Triangle Strategy for a fiver less on Amazon at 11pm on release day, and Kirby for £40 3 days after launch. Plus I’ve seen PS5 games drop by 50% a month after there release.
It makes sense not to jump too quickly these days if you don’t have to be part of the conversation day one. If you saved 10 percent every game, your 10th would be for free.
@Mrgawain
i guess but you can also just shop around. i mainly use shopto and i never actually pay the RRP prices.
Kirby was £39.04 for me with free delivery on day one.
For 1st party nintendo games in general, they rarely get discounted after anyway.
@Browny You clearly haven't been paying much attention recently. Damn near everything sold online has been nearly instantly falling into a scalper botnet blackhole for the past few years, and it's only getting worse. Hell, there have been issues with stock being completely sold out before the item was actually listed!
For UK customers, the My Nintendo UK Store has opened up pre-orders for the standard edition, no pre-order bonuses slated yet but they are prone to adding things on closer to the launch date.
They haven't opened up pre-orders for the collector's edition yet, but they have set up a page to register interest in it.
https://store.nintendo.co.uk/en_gb/xenoblade-chronicles-3-collectors-edition.html
I've registered hoping to be notified when pre-orders open up.
@Browny well the Fire Emblem Warriors SE is already sold out on the Nintendo shop and it's not going to be delivered until June. I think scalpers will likely lead to the same result for XC3
It would be nice if Nintendo gave first dibs to online subscribers or those members with a lot of points as a reward. I really want the SE but I doubt I’m going to get a copy.
Does anyone in the US know if a similar link exists for Nintendo NA? https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=12777&awinaffid=113418&ued=https%3A%2F%2Fstore.nintendo.co.uk%2Fen_gb%2Fxenoblade-chronicles-3-collectors-edition.html
Still waiting for preorders to go live for amazon
You should probably update this since preorders on Amazon have been live for a while.
https://store.nintendo.co.uk/en_gb/xenoblade-chronicles-3-collectors-edition.html
this is just the register interest page, but i think its been updated. Not sure if this was there before but like the nintendo japan page, you will only recieve the game at launch then the special edition box, steelbook and artbook will be delivered at an later date in autumn.
This is probably why it is only exclusive to the nintendo store.
Might want to remove the Canadian and US MY Nintendo store since SURPRISE (said no one ever who can rationally think), the store is down and nobody was able to get a preorder in because Nintendo can't even manage a website let alone a special edition launch catered to die-hard fans.
Website is working again, but release date is back to TBD. What a ***** show.
This is a very long article for ‘buy game here’.
I read the article. Seems like there’s no xenoblade fans outside US or UK
@GamingFan4Lyf
TBH i wouldn't mind seeing a remaster of Xenoblade X on the next switch (since iirc they mentioned hardware being an issue) i had a great time with it on wiiu, maybe it could even lead to it getting a follow up.
@Mgalens I liked Xenoblade Chronicles X, and there is definitely room for follow up as I kind of feel like the game left me with more questions than answers!
I don't see how the Switch hardware could be an issue for a re-release. You can play the game completely on the Wii U Gamepad, so single screen gameplay is entirely possible.
@GamingFan4Lyf
I imagine it could be related to running it on that rather than being playable on a single screen, since the gamepad was streaming the game from the wiiu itself.
While the performance has improved on games released since XC2 it does seem like the games definitely take a hit while in handheld mode (hoping 3 is closer to how XB1E ran rather than 2)
it could have been that Xenoblade X on wiiu was really well optimised around the wiiu's hardware specifically (alongside the data packs for the physical one) so it could be harder to get it running on different hardware without the specs doing some of the heavy lifting.
then again this is mainly me going off some vague comment that was made when monolith was asked about XCX .
@Mgalens Interesting. I mean, the Switch is more powerful; but if the game was designed specifically around certain nuances of the Wii U hardware than I understand.
@GamingFan4Lyf
I wouldn't take my word for it since im mainly going by stuff i vaguely remember but i do remember XCX being very technically impressive for the system and had an absolutely MASSIVE digital file size since it contained all the data packs needed to improve performance.
i haven't tried the game without the data packs though.
i think looking back at some of the articles the monolith soft mentioned that they would love to bring it to switch if money wasn't an issue since the scale of the game was so massive.
im hoping around the time a successor is viable that the game can make it to it since i loved the game and i imagine quite a few missed out on it due to it being on a system which wasnt exactly popular. also it would be cool to see it with some visual touch ups though i still found the original version stunning to look at
@MS7000 I hate how you can’t simply cancel your order. It’s a right faf!
Do these games work fine as standalone titles? I’m in a rare mood for a big RPG right now and this might be it, but I haven’t played any in the series and I’m just not a big enough RPG fan to go back through old games in the series.
@commentlife Whilst XC1 & XC2 are both stand-alone games, the fact that the background of the XC3 cover has callbacks to the past 2 games and other signs suggests this game may tie them together. So honestly I would suggest playing through the 2 previous games or at least reading up on them.
@commentlife watch all the xenoblade 1 and 2 cutscenes on youtube then. you will appreciate them all more.
They are fine as a standalone title. i played xenoblade 2 first before 1. There are links between the 3 games however. so it would be best to know what happens in the previous games.
@Mgalens the XCX DLC only exists to speed up loading, they don’t add anything new not already on the disc, you can play it without any download, it’s just that fast travel loading time will be really slow as there are lots of data to read from the disc.
XC3 Collector edition is still not available to purchase in the UK, I don't get it, the game will be released in what 16 days, about 2 weeks and it is still not up, I know the collector part will be sent later, but what the problem into setting the sale on?
With that Bayo3 collector sold out in less than 1h. Start to really lose my cool there :/
Just got the following e-mail from the German My Nintendo Store (TLDR: NO CEs for Europe in July. They will launch in September and in order for us to be able to play the game at launch, they will also sell the CE contents with NO game included at a discounted price)
Thank you for registering your interest in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector's Edition on My Nintendo Store.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen logistical issues, we are unable to accept pre-orders for the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector's Edition prior to the game's release on July 29th. We apologize for the resulting inconvenience.
To give our customers the flexibility to purchase and play the game when it's released, we are now offering the Collector's Edition add-on content (softcover concept artbook, steel case, and outer box) to purchase separately for a price that reflects the game Xenoblade Chronicles 3 does not include.
This means you can buy the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 game when it releases on July 29th and have the opportunity to pre-order the Collector's Edition content on My Nintendo Store later in September.
Since you have already registered your interest, you will continue to receive updates about this product and will be notified as soon as pre-orders open in September.
Thank you for your understanding and please look forward to the next updates in the coming months.
The My Nintendo Store team
Already pre-ordered mine from GameStop Canada just waiting for Friday to start this huge game.
I like how all the "best deals and cheapest prices" in the US are all full MSRP $59.99. Way to put the work in NL.👍
@Astral-Grain From all XC games (incl. Xenogears etc for PSX), I kind of liked XCX the most in terms of all being excellent. XC and XC2 to me where both 9.5/10 games, where XCX was a 10/10 because in that game I felt like being my own man, deciding my own fate where the other two games you are put into a role which is amazing too, but I just love games where you have a feeling of still being somewhat you in the game ha, if that makes sense?
I am dying to see a port too but from what I hear it is complicated as heck because of the size of the game and whatnot. It might most likely never happen.
Now this is the game worthy of 60$.. unlike incomplete, underwhelming, overpriced and overhyped Mario Strikers.
Where to order xb3 on the switch
Anywhere?
here in nyc some stores are already selling the game before it is officially released..
If Nintendo fails to get my store preorder to me by Friday, I'm going to be very annoyed.
Saw one on Facebook Marketplace earlier for £35
@eaglebob345 annoyed? About not getting a game on time. Wow! Real world problems.
£39.99 Argos UK. They often drop to this price on launch day.
@Orokosaki They didn't even ship it yet. 🥲
@eaglebob345 Nintendo uk are a waste of time when it comes to shipping stuff early nowadays. They used to be great. I use Shopto or Amazon these days.
@Orokosaki I ordered it through Nintendo US but the same applies. It won't get to me until Aug 2nd. I don't usually buy games directly from Nintendo, I just wanted to complete my artbook collection with the special edition. I sprang for a digital copy once I realized it wasn't going to arrive on time. Amazon is usualy my go-to, or my local Gamestop for midnight releases.
After all this time find it hard that SE buyers don't get Season Pass included. PreOrder is just that that we get it paid and ready ahead of time. Why take it longer? I think they screwed up royally is what happened. PreOrder should've gone out before the release date at least two days so they arrive on time for Online Nintendo Orders.
Buy? It works decently on Yuzu.
@dani3po I guess you feel proud of yourself. If this game doesn't deserve your money and the price asked for it, which one does??
@dani3po I'm sure you think you're sticking it to Nintendo and hacking like Neo but I can assure you no one cares if you emulate & everyone on a gaming website like this already knows it's an option.
@Coalescence If you don't care, don't comment.
So... I got a pre-order in of the special edition (US).
The email receipt was correct, and indicated standard, 4-7 business day delivery.
What I got instead was the game box alone, shipped Friday, with next-day delivery. The order status page on Nintendo's site lists "Xenoblade Chronicles 3" as the package sent, and a completely blank item in the item list. And it's still "processing." Maybe they'll send the rest later? Or maybe they're totally screwing up. I'l engage customer support tomorrow (unless someone here happens to know they send the SE stuff later (for the US) and I managed to miss that).
Ah hah. This doesn't appear to be noted in this article (though I imagine was all out there in a forum conversations I missed?), but the US is indeed shipping the standard game separately and not shipping the special edition content until Fall, so kinda like UK but all as part of the same pre-order I guess? Not a big deal to me, just wish it had been clearer so I didn't worry that they flubbed my SE.
