Buying! Buying! Did I mention I’m buying these?

I was hoping Nintendo would get back into themed Joycons. I feel like they found the sweet spot for variant buyers. Procons and Joycons are the way to go.

I do hope they do a bundle pack though. Since I am getting the game as well.

There is no way to pre-order these yet, is there?
Also these are probably the best Joy-Cons yet.

my birthday falls on July 7th so this gives me a good excuse to snag them, not sure whether to buy skyward sword with them or grab the links awakening remake, i'm pretty torn rn

Hopefully you can get skyward sword and these as a set, and also hopefully they have sorted out drift on them

Love the designs on these joycons but the only annoyance is that as soon as orders hit the scalpers will dive in fast, how much chance do I have in picking these up?

@Bunkerneath I still have the limited edition skyward sword Wii remote plus that I got bundled with the game so it would be nice to have these too.

@eltomo I wouldn’t. Nintendo did the “mario red” joycons and still made a themed system later.

I still have a few golden Wiimotes I collected from the Wii days. Golden nunchucks, too. It's great to see them continuing the tradition, though the Wii packaged it's golden Wiimote with copies of Skyward Sword for an extra 10 bucks or so, an incredible deal.

I aint buying a single new Joy-Con until they re-design them and fix the drift.

This new release doesn't give me much hope for that...

(And yes, I still have the special edition wiimote and gamecube style controller you could plug into your wiimote. Hoh boy.)

I was hoping for gold, like the Wii remote, but these are quite attractive and will be my go-to joy cons from the day they are released.

Attack using joy-con drift!

Today I pre ordered these, Skyward Sword HD, and Mario Golf.

I've never felt the need to buy extra joy cons. I still have a launch Switch, and still haven't had any drift (knock on wood), but I will be purchasing these beauties. I'm more excited about the joy cons than the game.

They really are beautiful looking Joy Cons..however both my other pair have terrible drift that have made it trying to play any games with them totally unplayable..disgusting and no reason to say these wouldn't go the same way.I'll stick to my third party controller that is far superior.

These are the best looking Joy-Cons yet. As much I love all things Zelda related, I'm not sure if I can justify getting this set though as I have two pro controllers & two pairs of Joy-Cons already. That being said, as I mainly play games using my Pro Controllers, I would find it extremely hard to resist buying a new Pro Controller if Nintendo were to do one in this Zelda theme🤞

Both colors look cool on it's own. But together... They just don't fit together! They look too similar to be combined.

Its funny how these caught more attention than BOTW controllers because you know botw, their designs are a bit dull.
These are true zelda joy cons because SS is a real zelda game.

@huyi l forgot they had a special wii remote. It was gorgeous and now l sorta want it even though l hardly play on the wii but it will look nice with my special edition skyward sword for the wii. Gold gold!

@Rob3008 Call me cynical, but Nintendo won't release/design new Joy-Cons minus the dreaded drift. If they do, it will be seen as an admittance on their part that there is a drift issue, something that they still deny. Unfortunately, as PS5 users are now finding, drifting on modern controllers is very real and something we are now stuck with.

yeah, even PS5 controllers are drifting now. Joy cons aren't the only one.

@1ofUs Its the Yobwin controller.A cheaper version of Nintendo's own pro controller.Bought it on Amazon over a year ago and had no trouble at all.Recommend it.

Stunning, I love them. No thanks to drifting, if I did purchase them, they will stay in the box as collector's items unfortunately. Now if Hori made them...

@BenAV Where did you put your pre-order in, and where have you seen it sell out? I've checked about a half dozen of the usual outlets, and haven't seen any indication whatsoever that they've been up for order.

While they're up for pre-order on GameStop, I can't even access the cart or checkout on the browser OR the app! I wish it would show up on Amazon for Pre-order, so I can pay with Gift Cards.

@Hordak Zelda games that used motion control made Link right handed as there are more right handed people in the world. (No dis to Lefties, my mom is one). That is why TP was the “mirror” version on gamecube. This is standard procedure for Nintendo.

Edit: gamecube was first so the right handed versions are inverted. I bought the wii version only so I mixed that up despite having read that at the time.

@BenAV Analog stick drift is easy to fix.

@Meehanuk Drift can be fixed in less than 5 mins...

They look really cool, but I'm not buying any more joycons until they fix them.

I'm usually all over special controllers like this, but as other have pointed out, drift is an issue. I'd basically be afraid to use these joyons too much.

@HXLXIII I’ve had them fixed multiple times. Are you suggesting there is a permanent fix? Either way I don’t feel like investing in defective hardware.

Yup, I wanted to preorder these and yet again, all the scalpers grabbed the pre orders before us regular folk even had a chance.

As good as these joycons look, im still a bit worried about buying them re drift.
I dont want to buy any joycons until the drift problem has been rectified or they are completely new architecture inside

I can’t quite believe what I’m seeing. This hardware is duff by design and because they’ve stuck some pound shop transfers on them people will stay throw cash their way. Wow, just wow.

I'd absolutely love to buy these stylish controllers, but I've resisted purchasing any Joy-Con tech until I can confirm the drift issue has been resolved. Can't commit to buying an expensive thing I know comes pre-broken.

Wish I can have a bot running to get just one. We can always, buy them on ebay or bid insane prices but not pay. I've occasionally been burned by buyers just not paying, not communicated, having to deal with relisting and the buyers never get penalized.

I ended up unable to pre-order those Zelda Joy Cons, so I ended up going to ControllerChaos.com, and bought ToeJam & Earl Joy Cons. They're painted, then tested, and if there's something wrong with them, you can send them back and have them fixed for free! They cost $180 American, that's $80 for the Joy Cons, and $100 for the Paint Job. Probably a bit more than what Scalpers would charge for those Zelda ones.

I like them but I'll not buy another joycon. My console left had bad drift, and the right connection issues. My second pair no drift (yet) but the right joycon has even worse connection issues!
I love the joycon in theory. But darned if they aren't overpriced for a faulty product. :/
Even the Pro controller has a crap D-pad. A first for nintendo.
Switch is the only nintendo system I've ever owned where I prefer third party controllers.

Preordered from Shopto yesterday evening at just under £64, but then got an email this morning saying they can’t fulfil it. Guess they blew through their consignment during preorders. Preordered on Amazon though.

It's hard to justify with the joycon drift still around. They look amazing though!

@Ravenmaster The Hylian shield is blue, the handle of the Master Sword is purple. That's why the colour difference.

@Perryg92 Look at it this way, every time you return them for repair you get them done free and you get an additional 1 year warranty. Your joy cons will be perpetually newer than your switch ;D

Seems to be a US only situation.

These are going to be a full-blown nightmare to find.

I was able to pre order them from Smyths on 30th March. I just hope they get enough stock to be able to fulfil all of their pre orders.

I was hopping, as usual, for the Nintendo UK store to have them, but they seems to just have decided to make things even better and to never put it on pre-order.. (and stop all pre-order, period. Pokemon Snap is still not even listed and is released this week!)

@huyi well all retailers that sell joycons will have these some might have limited but overall i recommend waiting till the 16th to buy them

Short answer, these joy-cons are still unavailable. These look amazing, but they haven't fixed the joy-con drift so these are practically guaranteed to have issues. I used to be okay with Nintendo's repair service, but they've since changed that to use local repair centers. My last two joy-con's I sent in have come back with "fixed" yet incredibly dinged up replacements that also had grime around the joysticks and buttons on the replacements I received. The one's I sent in were clean and the one's I received were obviously someone else's used joy-cons despite being "cleaned". I'm to the point that practically only use the Pro controller.

I only use the PowerA wireless GameCube Controller.
The JoyCons are horrible! I have two full sets/pairs and they just do nothing but drift.

And before anyone chimes in about not taking care of them, they drifted on Day 1!

Got these preordered back in March, super happy about that. Also got the Loftwing amiibo pre-ordered as of yesterday! Can't wait to replay Skyward Sword, I never finished it on Wii.

All sold out in the U.S. I see some sites in the UK are still up, but not sure if they ship to US or not.

@nymbosox I don't believe pre-orders have actually opened up on those sites for the US. NL just mentioned the product pages have opened, and that preorders would be later. I'm sure NL will update this article once those open as well.

They opened up on best buy and gamestop in the US when they were announced but i never got any wind of when they went up for preorder and the next day they went up randomly and i missed out.

Had my order on very sorted for a couple of weeks now. Helps I had a 20% off code.

The drift is terrible and has happened to all 3 sets of mine.

Also the right joy con loses connection while in tv mode. Does any one know a fix for this?

Guaranteed to drift in a month or so. Please don't waste your money unless you're shelving them.

Would be cool if the L & R joycon icons, at the bottom of the Switch's home screen, got replaced with a sword & shield upon using them both wirelessly.

If my other 3 sets didnt all get drift these would be tempting! I currently use hori pads in handheld mode and pro controller on tv......so chuffed they added button controls alonside motion

I shouldn't have gotten the Splatoon colours for Christmas (neon green and hot pink). They literally announced these Zelda ones a few months after.

@nymbosox yea but they take limited pre orders on those sites at that time and allow preordering of the minimum amount they will receive.,They usually put them up again before release when they know exactly how many they will get.

@Perryg92 they will repair it for free or replace it with an exact one. Since the splatoon set is limited they would probably replace all the insides and keep the shells unless they have extra laying around but he’s they will fix or replace them for free.
Remember it will take a few weeks to get them back after initial shipping them to them.

@andyg1412 I've just bought an 8bittodo Bluetooth adapter so I can use my Xbox or playstation controller on it , was only 16 quid

I would buy it, but a regular joycon costs 100 dolars in Brazil and this one cost almost 200 dolars (and extremely hard to find). It's easier to buy a regular one and the shell at Aliexpress (some retailers sells original shells, probably they buy directly from the shell supplier). There are a PC software to edit how the console identify the colors too, changing it in the joy-con firmware.

Had them pre-ordered, but cancelled.

They sure are pretty, but I'm not spending £65 for them to sit in my cupboard for 3 years until I flog them.

While these look pretty good I've been using third party ones for a while now and never looked back.

Its kind of ***** just how joycon are still being priced this high after over 4 years. Not to mention the fact that joycon drift is still an issue after over 4 years. I want them but I'm not willing to be bent over and f@$%ed for the privilege of having them
