If you've played through the main game in Pokémon Sword and Shield, one character you should remember is the Ball Guy who appears at every stadium in the game and gives you unique Poké Balls every time you see him.
Well, last year he began giving out codes on social media for Mystery Gifts that gift you rare Poké Balls and other free goodies simply by typing in a code. The Pokémon Company is also distributing codes via other means.

- Players in Europe should find a code for Zarude in their email inbox, as long as they signed up for the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter by 18th December 2020.
- Shiny Zacian and Shiny Zamazenta distribution was available in Europe, the US, Canada, and Asia in mid-November 2021, but are unavailable now. We'll update in the future if they return.
How to redeem the Mystery Gift codes in Pokémon Sword and Shield
To do redeem these codes, simply follow these instructions:
- Open the main menu in your copy of Pokémon Sword or Shield
- Select 'Mystery Gift', then 'Get a Mystery Gift'
- Select 'Get with Code/Password' and input the code to claim your free gift

@Little_emeralddragon They have a expiration date. Some of them can only be redeemed within a certain time frame.
The capped pikachu expires November 30th, at 6:59 am PST
All capped Pikachu's will expire at November 30th 6:59 AM PST.
You can get Ash's Pikachu from 20th movie (Partner Cap Pikachu) with a code 1CH00SEY0U as well.
