Some items are given away using Mystery Gift codes, while others are available to all players via online distribution, but to get your hands on them, you'll need to have unlocked the Mystery Gift functionality in-game.

How to unlock Mystery Gifts in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Thankfully, unlocking the Mystery Gift function in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is nice and straightforward, and simply requires patience above all else.

While not available to you at the start, the Mystery Gift function will become available to you naturally after you pass a certain point in the game. You should see the option to claim Mystery Gifts appear in your in-game menu once you've cleared the game's fifth mission, 'A Request from Mai'.

How to redeem Mystery Gift codes in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Once the Mystery Gift function has unlocked, you'll want to start inputting any active codes. To do that, just follow these steps:

• Open your satchel by pressing the 'Up' button
• Scroll across each tab by pressing the 'ZL/ZR' buttons until you reach the Mystery Gift screen
• Select 'Mystery Gift', then 'Get with Code/Password' or 'Get via Internet'
• Input your chosen code (if applicable) to claim your free gift
