In before “something something soulless and ugly”
I’m really glad Funko is making the Pokémon Pop figures. I just wish the original Pikachu wasn’t so darn rare. I’m very glad, however, that the new Pikachu coming out has a much more interesting design than the original.
Ooh, those Pikachu prices are tempting...
I'm not a huge Pokemon guy, but shouldn't Pikachu's tail be half brown or something? He looks like a Richu or Pika or someone else.
I do like all the crazy random prices.
I think i’ll get the Squirtle Pop. It looks very derpy. Also, what’s up with the other prices? $43 for a Pikachu Pop Figure?
Collect something that looks better than these lifeless "collectibles".
@rjejr the bottom bit closest to his booty is where it's brown, you just can't see it from the front
Eww...its so creepy.
@DaCh33f Thank you. I was actaully ion Target yesterday afternoon and picked up a stuffed Pikachu and realized what you said, ti's only brown at the bottom. Still looks weird though.
So, upon further reflection, I've decided I thought he looks like Pichu b/c of the big head small body size, not the coloring. Also it seems that's the offfical, usual, stance of Pichu, Pikachu doesn't stand like that. So I'm wrong, but for a reason.
@Kal_ or people could spend their money however they want.
@Reddaye
Yeah they can.
But should they? These things are devoid of any intrinsic value. It costs more to make the packaging than the actual "figure" itself. There is no reason to whatsoever. No soul, no creativity, no worth, no appeal, and no playability.
A Pikachu Amiibo is infinitely times better, and cheaper, and has an actual use other than this 40$ Pikachu Funko Pop.
I prefer to buy my Pops on Entertainment Earth because at least I know I will get them mint.
Alakazam and Cubone look awesome!
Funko Pop the plastic blight of the world!
The large, dead, black-eyed stare of these things removes any appeal these Pokemon originally had to me. I sincerely do not understand the appeal of these things.
I’m gonna be that guy, but for me, it depends on the funky, I think most of them look ugly for the most part.
Yeah, I really don’t get funko. I would much rather have some normal looking figures of these pokemon than this.
@Kal_ Would you like to live in a fascist society where others get to decide what you're allowed to spend your own money on?
I wouldn't either. It's their money, not yours.
For me it's the Amiibos that command more value for my collection. I currently have only Amiibos. Only Funko was Sonic Funko and I don't recall seeing that Funko retail that I've seen.
Idea:
Funko X amiibo
I will never understand why people buy these.
I'll take plastic products that should never have existed for $1000, ghost of Alex Trebek.
I just got a silver 25th anniversary Bulbasaur for $12, haha
Physical NFTs.
@Astral-Grain
fascism is when no funko pops
I love Funko pops but it seems like the availability in us is much higher then europe. Buy my Funko's at local store www.nerdylicious.nl btw because I dont want to send my money to Amazon. They are taking over the planet..
