Review Parodius: Non-Sense Fantasy (Super Nintendo)
Oh, we laugh at this game! Gradius is fine but this is nicer!
A fiendish giant octopus by the name of Zeo and his intergalactic mutant penguin mates are up to no good, wreaking havoc on the inhabitants of the Parodius Zone. Thankfully, help is at hand as Vic Viper, Pentarou the penguin, Twinbee and a gun-toting octopus have come to save the day. As...

About The Game
Parodius is a parody of Gradius, with some flavour from other shoot-em-ups, like Twinbee.
The game is a right-to-left scrolling shoot-em-up. You can choose from 4 different flying creatures, with different weapons. You must finish 7 stages, each having a boss at the end. You may start at either one, but must complete every level to advance to the final stage.

One of the best shoot 'em ups ever in my opinion, pretty much only bested by its sequels which were never released outside Japan. Really hope Konami throws it on VC eventually!
I looked up in this one shmup site that this game had some content in it that prevented it from being released in America (I recall seeing this one female dancer with revealing clothing in a screenshot). Of course, I probably read wrong.
But I digress. The game looks good, and Shiryu's gameplay footage of it gave me a good impression. I also looked up that this game barely has any slowdown, despite being an early SNES shmup.
The important question is: Did anyone watch all 39 minutes of the above video?
No, that would completely spoil the game for me if I did.
I Just played this on the Saturn pack, its good, but later sequel Sexy Parodius is better.
I knew I saw that cat before! It's Matt_B's avatar.
cough cough
Uh yeah, this is pretty much one of the best games I've ever played, from a pure gameplay point of view.
I would like the Konami Game Boy Collections released on the 3DS E-Shop so I can play the Game Boy Parodius with colour enhancements on my 3DS.
Or even better Konami, take that Parodius collection what you did for the PSP and stick it on the 3DS! Oh god that would make my day several times over.
