Super Rare Games has announced not one, two, three, or even four physical games for Nintendo Switch, but five - yes, five brand new hard copy releases for the hybrid platform.
In order, there's one from 505 Games, one from Daedalic Entertainment, another from Chucklefish, a fourth from Vertex Pop and last but not least is a game from Neon Doctrine. All of them are coming soon. Without further ado, here they are:
Abzu
"we're proud to confirm that we will be releasing the physical Nintendo Switch edition of ABZÛ! It's a truly gorgeous, one-of-a-kind experience and we can't wait to show you the physical release we have planned. We'll have info on this one sooner than you'd think - stay tuned!"
Deponia Collection
"We're teaming up with Daedalic Entertainment to release not 1, not 2, not even 3, but FOUR games, all on one physical cartridge! Deponia Collection brings together all the Deponia graphic adventure classics (Deponia, Chaos on Deponia, Goodbye Deponia, and Deponia Doomsday). We'll have more details later in the year."
Inmost
"We're excited to announce that we're teaming up with Chucklefish to bring the hauntingly nightmarish INMOST to the Nintendo Switch in physical form! You can imagine how this beautiful art style will translate well to a physical edition later this year!"
Super Crush KO
"We loved working with Vertex Pop on our release of Graceful Explosion Machine so much, we decided to work together again on the physical Switch release of Super Crush KO! It's a beautiful, vibrant, kickass game, and we can't wait to share more details on its physical release later this year."
Vigil: The Longest Night
"Last but certainly not least, we're ecstatic to announce that we're teaming up with Neon Doctrine to bring an awesome action-RPG physically to the Nintendo Switch. It's a game filled with haunting environments and truly hideous enemies and bosses - stay tuned for more details on its physical release later this year."
Super Rare Games says it will have more details to share about each game closer to each release - which is spread out over the course of this year. It's also got some other "big surprises" on the way, so stay tuned.

Abzu is a beautiful game, I highly recommend it.
@Handy_Man
What’s it like, gameplay wise? I was thinking of getting it, it looks gorgeous, but was hesitant because it looks a bit too ‘laid back’.
@Handy_Man had this in my basket forever on the switch then it dropped free on the ps4 a couple weeks back so downloaded it. Yet to play it tho. Im waiting for a weekend off when im on my own with no distractions and i can just chuck my 5.1 cans on and be immersed 👌
Deponia is the only one I'd be interested in, but I can't make myself pay top dollar for a collection of games that can be had digitally for a fraction of the price when on sale.
Vigil looks quite nice. Don't remember that one crossing my radar before.
@the_weakest_link
2h long, beautiful yet contemplative experience.
Precise gameplay, swimming is nice, but not much to « do »...
I think I paid around £1.20 for Abzu in one of the numerous sales it goes on. Physical just can’t be justified
Gutted! I recently bought all the Deponia games when they were on sale on the eshop. I would have loved a physical collection. As much as the resale value is there, I can't justify double dipping ☹️
@SenseiDje
Thanks, controls and graphics are pretty much the most important things to me. I might wait for reviews for Subnautica on Switch, do you know how it compares to Abzu?
@the_weakest_link lol I have bought Abzu thinking in Subnautica! I was pleased it’s nice indeed but too short and no replay value ...for collectors only I think...
Deponia collection is free right now through Epic games store, just saying
I will probably buy Vigil as it is a creepy game
@the_weakest_link Hello, I bought the game when it was on sale. I really like the chill vibe and the visuals. However, I played it only a couple times before being caught up in other games. While I hope to go back to keep playing, I guess I prefer games with a little more excitement.
When are we going to see Huntdown
I've always been disappointed Nintendo never brought back the Endless ocean games. However Abzu is probably closest game to Endless Ocean its very relaxing.
I recommend Abzû for those looking for a relaxing visual treat. Keep in mind going in that it's all about the experience, not the challenge.
Mildly tempted by the physical edition of Inmost, but I might just pick that up digital.
They are robbing me blind here....
If they can make the Deponia collection a reasonable price (all four would normally cost a frankly insulting $150 AUD on the e-shop) I might even bite!
@the_weakest_link Subnautica is more of a Sandbox/Adventure game, with more to do and much more exploration to be done, with the story spread out in between. Abzu is a really short experience and is more laid back and chill experience.
Subnautica: Exploration, Sandbox, Story
Abzu: Short, Great Looking, Chill
Inmost is very disturbing.
Not supple, not a great game in hands but, i'm happy to have done it.
An experience.
Abzu is a lovely game, very relaxing but short. If you have an Xbox or PS and are looking for an endless Ocean type game, check out Beyond Blue. Switch version is planned I think but delayed.
The Deponia collection comes a little too late, but depending on the price I might get it just to free up some space.
It's super rare if they do a release I actually want.
Super Crush KO looks like City-pop, very good.
Can't say any of these were at the top of my physical release wishlist but its nice to see smaller or lesser known titles get the physical treatment. I personally would like to see one for Fez, Night in the Woods, or Bug Fables.
@tatanga
Success! Ah ha ha, held off on buying this one, so this is welcome news! A lot of comments about the game are similar to yours: “not perfect, but an overall worthwhile experience.” Can’t wait to play this (next year!)!
