Congratulations on making it through another week! This week brought us a surprise launch from Konami, some unorthodox Animal Crossing weddings and release date news for Pokémon Sword and Shield's first DLC, but it's finally time to take a breather from all that and chat about our gaming plans.
Members of Team Nintendo Life have gathered together to do just that, and we'd love for you to join in via our poll and comment sections below. Enjoy!

Hey. This weekend I’ve lined up an evening sampling the delights of 51 Worldwide Games, a chance for me to prove once and for all to my wife and kids that you can put any card or board game in front of me and I will absolutely lose at it. I’m also in the midst of reviewing Buckshot Software’s Project Warlock, so keep an eye out for that review on the 11th of this month, am mopping up a few side quests that I’ve got left to do in The Outer Worlds and have got both the Bioshock and Borderlands collections sat waiting for me to get stuck into.
I’m genuinely not sure where I’m going to get the time to be honest. Have a good weekend whatever you’re up to and stay safe out there!

Inspired by all the Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass news this week, I've finally gotten back into catching 'em all to chip away at my Pokédex. I've also finally downloaded Pokémon Home - just the free version, mind - and suddenly feel the need to work towards completing that Pokédex too. What can I say? There's just something about seeing all those silhouettes that makes me need to complete it.
Other than that, I'm also hoping to get some time in with 51 Worldwide Games this weekend. It feels like it'll be the perfect game to jump into every now and then to pass the time during lockdown, and I can't wait to fluke a win in chess and declare myself the absolute genius mastermind of the household. Bring it on.

This weekend, my younger brother is coming into town, and we plan to play a few games together. We’ll chill in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, battle a bit in Pokémon Sword and Shield, race in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, brawl in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, burn a few things in Overcooked 2, whip out Mancala in Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics, and maybe even mess around a bit in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for old time’s sake.
These are the game franchises we grew up playing, so we just play them as standard whenever we’re together now. Should be a good distraction from the past stressful few weeks.

This week I shall be avoiding the Switch eShop sale and settling down to some Witcher 3. I’m only 3 or so hours into the game—not even out of the tutorial section yet—but I’ve loved every second I’ve played so far. I had readied myself for some ropey combat, but everything I’ve played so far has been pleasantly, surprisingly good.
I also eyed GRID Autosport on sale but, like I said, I’m going to be strong. Oh yes! Let’s hope I can make it through the evening without enjoying a frosty beverage that’ll loosen the old purse strings.

Another great handful of eShop releases means I am again spoiled for choice this weekend. Liberated, the surprise release of Skelattack, the long-awaited The TakeOver and Bridge Strike will ensure plenty of varied gameplay to sink my teeth into. No microSD cards arrived this week so I still can’t touch the 2K re-releases, opting instead for another dose of Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath and 51 Worldwide Games.
My game of the week is Rigid Force Redux! I have literally waited years for this one to jump from Steam to the Switch and the wait was very much worthwhile.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave a vote in the poll above and a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...

Luigi's Mansion 3 & Xenoblade chronicles DE
First all have a good weekend enjoy it!
Im Playing a lot for.my standarts this week.
51 worldwide games
My dailey AC sessions
Streets of rage 4
Trials of mana
And the beginning of xenoblade.
Have a good one!
For the first time in ages, not sure what I’ll be playing, after finally finishing The Witcher III. Do I go for Xenoblade Chronicles 3D? Ori and the Blind Forest? Cosmic Star Heroine?
Or do I just carry on and do the DLC for The Switcher?
Got my hands pretty full between Animal Crossing and Xenoblade Chronicles. Squeezing in a bit of 51 Worldwide Games and Groove Coaster.
1. Terraria on the Switch.
2. Spider-Man on PS4.
3. World of Warcraft on PC.
Shantae and Animal Crossing.
Animal Crossing!
@BenAV wats d big deal wit dis 51 WW games ?...I not getting it...
@Krull
The DLC for Switcher is one of the best in a long time
A lot of my gaming time since last week has been juggled between Bioshock and TWO Xenoblades (confusing as it proves to alternate between the similar yet different control schemes - and after Xenoblades' B button jumps, just imagine diving back into Rapture where B is for first-aid kits😱😆) , so even despite having a handful of new titles added to check out last night, these look like they'll fill most of it this weekend as well. But I do hope to squeeze in some Ace Attorney on top of that.
Mostly Fire Emblem Three Houses. I'm over halfway through the Black Eagles story and it's really kicking off, after a slow start.
I've also been playing a bit of SteamWorld Heist, the smaller levels are a nice change of pace from my lengthy FE3H sessions.
It's my last day of holiday so I'll try and play some Borderlands with my wife too.
More Xenoblade and possibly some Clubhouse Games and XCOM 2. I imagine that just like Xenoblade 2, Xenoblade will last me hundreds of hours.
On Switch, going to check in with my Animal Crossing island and try to complete a task. On PC, continuing playing the PC classic Theme Park, and plan to play Command & Conquer Remastered, hoping to squeeze in some PSO2.
I picked up a bunch of games on the new sale, so I'm probably done buying anything new for this month. Ideal opportunity to grab a few games I wanted anyway, nice and cheap. I started Golf Story, so I'll stick with that for now, but I'm also ready to roll with...
The Takeover
Flipping Death
Raging Justice
Cat Quest
Horizon Chase Turbo
Going for a small socially distanced barbecue tomorrow. We can go to the toilet in grandma's house, but we can't sit down and watch the telly. Boris said it's fine.
@Sim1 that looks decent tbf. If you're into those sort of games anyway, it's a handy little package. I probably won't pick it up, I get it though.
A lot of my gaming time will be cut short from Monday as my 12 week Shielding has come to an end so back at work...(Despite the fact the threat is still as bad now as it was at the start)so I'll be making the most of my Switch and Ps4 time this weekend with Animal Crossing,Stardew Valley,Ni No Kuni 2 and Lego DC Villains.
Stay Safe all.
I have finished the storyline of Ratchet & Clank PS4 just now. 😀
Dr. Nefarious was really damn hard even with Casual Mode gameplay. 😫
Now i just only collect All Gold Bolts after storyline.
The storyline was okay but the ending was a little bit disappointing. Lack of charisma.
I'm not sure what game i will play tonight after dinner time. 🤔
Maybe someone can give me suggestion.
Switch — Dragon Quest XI S — Got back into it again this week hopefully I can stick with it.
Xbox One — Lego DC Villains — Picked this up from MS E3 sale, been wanting to play it for awhile now and I do enjoy a good Lego game.
Xenoblade Chronicles: DE, 51 Worldwide Games, Borderlands 1,BioShock 1, The Alliance Alive.
I am now in a fortunate position where I have a week off, so I will probably be playing Xenoblade Chronicles DE and Two Point Hospital.
Catching up on games I need to finish, A hat in time and New Super Lucky's Tale both very enjoyable
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition - On my way to save Juju. I've been focusing more on quests this time around since they are easier to keep track of so actual story progress is quite slow.
51 Worldwide Games - Turns out I like Mancala. Trying out everything but mostly interested in the card and board games.
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix - Going through all songs on Hard.
Ring Fit Adventure - I've gotten a bit lazy. Not playing every day like I used to but trying to fit it into my schedule. Still a fun game.
Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl - Postgame quests and floors.
Xenoblade of course. On the main game now having finished Future Connected. Tempted to play on casual for this play through so I can experience the story and updated environments without as much grinding. Also tempted by a new game plus run of Xenoblade 2.
I've got to start this off with my major game victory from this week: Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair. Upon getting to the Not So Impossible Lair, I thought I was going to have a much easier time thanks to the update, but I was wrong and still got served, and was left incredibly frustrated. I had the max amount of bees and could still only make it 41% through. However, once I eventually made it through the first section by only losing 5 bees, things got rolling. I sat down with the game one night planning to hopefully just make it through the second segment with a decent amount of bees, and finished the rest of the lair in one continuous epic run, resulting in a tense escape where I lost all my bees, and made it out the escape door with just Yooka and Laylee, and only 7 seconds to spare. Truly one of the most tense and epic moments I've ever had.
I also beat Songbird Symphony this week and it was totally adorbs and charming. And what a catchy soundtrack!
Now I'm diving into Team Sonic Racing. It's pretty fun so far, and I dont get the complaints about it being too slow. I'm finding that I'm reacting to dodging things just in time, while still running into my fair share of obstacles. Maybe I just suck, but if it were any faster, I'd be totally inept at the game. I also started playing Unlock the King, which I got on sale weeks ago. It's a great counter to TSR, calming my nerves with deep logic puzzles focused on moving chess pieces around grids to create a path for the king.
My wife also got Clubhouse 51 Games yesterday, and she's totally loving it. I think Hanafuda and Darts have stood out to her most so far. Oh yeah, we've also been playing Good Job together. Really hoping to get more of that in tonight for some random cathartic destruction of the workplace.
Iv ede uses to give up xenoblade chronicles definitive edition as the graphics and facial animations have put me off, when I played it on the wii I could stand the graphics as thats was was normal at the time and is still an amazing rpg but sadly not for me a second time round.
I will instead focus on completing trials of mana and Tokyo mirage sessions
Breath of the Wild.
For the past couple of weeks I’ve been hooked on the Witcher but I’ve reached a point in the story where I can take a break and return to Zelda.
And wow, I almost forgot how cool Hyrule is.
My focus is on One Step from Eden (only played about 2+ hours so far) and Bug Fables (finished Chapter 2 yesterday).
Downloaded the free edition of 51 Worldwide Games earlier (will try that in a bit), and might pick up Wargroove in the sale later.
I'm playing Bioshock!
It's so good to be back in Rapture 😁
Most of my playing time will be dedicated to Slay the Spire and Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. Both games are fantastic.
I've been getting into Okami HD and Valkyria Chronicles 4, with some Steredenn and Paladins every once in a while for a palate cleanser.
Having got the end credits on Astral Chain at last, I'll be winding down from that very good and intense game with some Trials Rising, the Clubhouse Games demo, and checking back with my attempt to find all the hidden exits in super mario world
kids woke me up at 5am trying to play the outer worlds while they are having a nap and also trying keep eyes open
Diablo 2 - The new ladder just started today and I got the unique Gull dagger within the first 2 hours. It gives 100% more chance of magic items dropping so now I’m swimming in loot!
Shantae and Animal Crossing for the Switch. I’ll be playing the Turbo Grafx 16 Mini as well.
So many games! I think a bit of fight n rage and going to try and complete creature in the well had it so long. Must not look at more sale games! Stay safe everyone x x x
Animal Crossing
Xenoblade Chronicles DE
Monster Prom XXL
Monster Prom is funny as ***** guys. I haven't laughed so hard since Thimbleweed Park.
Shantae of course. And a little Animal Crossing too. Maybe sone SoR4. Next week I'll start Xenoblade though I need to try and finish Trials of Mana first so I'll probably end up playing that this weekend too.
Playing borderlands, and finally getting around to completing Link's awakening.
Xenoblade, Civ6 and checking out the live Destiny event later too. Have a good weekend!
I’m a week into Xenoblade, trying and failing to not get too distracted by all the “!” points on the map. It’s so much fun!
I’ve just been in the High Entia Tomb.
I’m used to selecting I’m playing “something else” but a surprise when it’s the Number 1 game in the charts!
I jumped back into Celeste after rage quitting a while back and am now at the end of chapter 6 and if I play it in small doses i am loving it!! Will jump into a few of the 51 games for breaks in the intensity and the thousands of platform deaths... 😂
Been really trying to refrain from buying new games to give myself some time to work through the backlog a bit - Well I caved in last night lol.
Only took 2 minutes of playing the Clubhouse games demo with my wife to realize this game is multiplayer gold. Grabbed the full release and having a blast with that.
Also picked up Borderlands handsome collection. I’ve actually never played BL before at all and have been in the mood for a FPS - this seemed the pick of the bunch of such games recently released.
Still playing Animal Crossing daily.
Bioshock when wifes not around, when she is Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics (dsrts, ludo and yahtzee).
Bioshock remastered is brilliant, highly recommend it.
Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics is a whole lot of fun.
Got my copy of Clubhouse Games yesterday and I’ve been playing it since then. A lot of fun games, really can’t wait to get some local multiplayer going. I’ll also probably play some more SMM2, XC2, and maybe play some Nintendo 64.
More Xenoblade DE, plus some Doom Eternal
Enjoying Clubhouse Games and BioShock 2 on my Switch. Slowly getting into Dead by Daylight. And of course my usual Animal Crossing.
Enjoying my escapades in Zelda BOTW and racing in Grid Autosport, it has phenomenal graphics on Switch, the driving model is quite fun and I like how AI is quite aggressive without being totally mad.
Just finished Final Fantasy 3 remake Steam port yesterday so currently trying to figure out the next "main" game that I will be playing. I'm thinking of giving Berwick Saga (One of the games that the old Fire Emblem director made after leaving IS) a shot now that I finally have a laptop that can run it.
In the meanwhile I'm getting some enjoyment out of Clubhouse games, some of these games here are ridiculously addictive.
I'll be playing bug fables and Shantae.
Command & Conquer!
And Ring Fit Adventure
Xenoblade ................ 3d 😊 it’s amazing 🤯
This week I will be mostly playing
Mario Advance (asToad)
Almost solely Xenoblade Chronicles. I will however play small amount of bioshock. I'm putting down everything so I dont get side tracked from XC
I'm playing AI: The Somnium Files. I'm aware that it's not exactly a new game, but I'm enjoying it so far!
I'm playing Clubhouse Games and Xenoblade Chronicles DE aswell as Ring Fit Adventure
I finished playing Beat Cop this week which was surprisingly fun- I would recommend it to anyone who might find it interesting. I think it’s more of a time management game but it has a lot of humor and I thought the choices made were impactful.
I ended up picking up a digital copy of Clubhouse 51 but I haven’t gotten to play it yet. I’ll be trying that out this weekend.
My copy of Outer Worlds hasn’t arrived yet but that’s probably for the best so I can put some time into Borderlands 🙂
Also been having more fun than I expected playing Minecraft Dungeons on Gamepass!
No Xenoblade on the options? Seriously? The game released last week...
Hollow Knight. I've got the unbreakable charms now, so the challenge has taken a bit of a dip, but that's good in a way.
After I wrap that up, Astral Chain.
In between all that, Tetris 99, Grid Autosport (best racing game not named Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Switch by a mile) and my newly purchased Ring Fit Adventure. I've been horrible at exercising during this pandemic, so now I'll at least have something to help me through.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
I'll be playing some Xenoblade Chronicles on the Switch. After that, I'll take Xenoblade Chronicles for a drive. Then, I'll fit some reading in before playing Xenoblade Chronicles.
I may also fit in a little Yo-kai Watch 2 and Pokemon Go. We'll see.
Have a great weekend! Happy gaming!
Started playing DQ11 this week, love the art and the feel, haven't played one since 8 released on the PS2!
Why isn't Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition an option? Lol I'll be playing that for many months to come. ❤
Edit: will probably get my daily rounds in on my wife's island in AC:NH, get in the odd few matches in Rocket League (and see if the item shop finally has a smegging Mudcat for sale, unless someone wants to trade me one...), and maybe some MK8DX with the wife and kids. 4 player couch multi-player for the win!
But yeah, mostly XC:DE for the foreseeable future.
xenoblaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaade
Finished one piece warriors 3. Still need to 100% a handful of missions.
On mountain 3 lonely Mountain downhill. Really liking this game
Animal crossing has gone from every day to once or twice a week....and I'm okay with that
Probably going to start what the golf or Minecraft dungeons
Xenoblade for me. Want to be playing Clubhouse Games but Amazon didnt ship my copy yet
Lots of Minecraft Dungeons, probably more NBA2K20, and I just found out Caveblazers got a new update!
@Mamabear Beat Cop sounds intriguing, thanks...
I haven't played Animal Crossing in a couple of days, so I really want to get back into that. Will also be continuing my playthrough of Pokemon Sword. Have a great weekend everyone!
@Brodieman I’ve gotten a bit addicted to Minecraft Dungeons 😅 Fun game!
@Mamabear That's what I was afraid of. My backlog has grown out of control during the quarantine with all the sales.
Playing some Sonic Mania, Also my daily dose of Animal Crossing
Xenoblade of course! Gonna be playing it for quite some time!!!
Beyond that I'll be playing some Mario Kart with my coworker. She kicked my butt last time, so I'm hoping to do better this time around.
I'll probably just be sticking to what I've been playing as of late: New Horizons, Bug Fables, Ori and the Blind Forest, and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn
Struggling to get into any games at the mo. I dip in and out of ACNH but after 190 hours the charm is wearing off a bit.
I bought the escapists but instantly didn’t like it. Also picked up cosmic star heroine so might give that a go later
Clubhouse and Animal Crossing this week, for me!
Only playing Xenoblade Chronicles. Until I beat it at least once, nothing else for me.
Xenoblade Chronicles: DE and possibly a little bit of Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Bug Fables still.
Animal Crossing, Minecraft Dungeons and 51 Worldwide Games for me. Especially slot cars!
Heropon very cool!
Hmm well I started the Outer Worlds yesterday and I'm taking my time this go around seeing as I already beat it once on the One X so no rush.
I'm almost done with Bioshock 2 so that will be finished soon. Playing a little Animal Crossing and still working on Trials of Mana. Xenoblade and Borderlands collection are still there waiting to be played. And Oddworld Stranges Wrath was already shipped out yesterday.
Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition (Switch) - Having a great time in coop, prepping to kill Sledge.
Fallout 3 (Games For Windows) - Also finally getting back to the main missions finally.
Monster Burner (Windows Phone) - The difficulty spikes are all over the place in this game.
Used the power of the monado to foresee the future and it tells me that.....this weekend i will be playing XC:DE!
Shantae
Rocket League
Mario Kart
Animal Crossing
Horizon Chase Turbo
I also find it shocking that Xenoblade (sorry, I live in Japan so I don't have to say "Chronicles" as part of the title) is not on this list. That WAS going to be all I was going to play for the next year or so, but about 10 hours in I was like "oh man it's so amazing being back... but I only had like three more hats to get in SteamWorld Heist..." so I went back to my quest to finish all my other games so that I can spend the rest of my life on Xenoblade. Again. And it's working! I already finished two more games!
Xenoblade, baby. I just finished the main story and started Future Connected. I love this game so much.
I´m playing the "waiting for a patch for xcom 2" game
I've started a POKéMON Rutile Ruby run on my hacked 3ds b
Finally started Starlink which i picked up physical on sale a while back. Played a couple of hours so far, seems pretty decent. Not sure if its worth forking out for one of the digital packs for a bunch of extra ships, pilots and weapons or not.
Also a bit of snes online mario world, going for the 96 exits which i remember getting back in the 90s.
@Anti-Matter play hollow knight
Shantae and the Seven Sirens
Okami
River city Girls
Resident Evil. That sale on those games were long overdue
A day late, but I have continue playing Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition. This morning I beat the story of Legend Mode, though I still need a few Pieces of Hearts and Heart Containers. Then this afternoon I played Zelda Phantom Hourglass on N3DS. Got to say, I would like to see this game received a remake that makes it play like Wind Waker, plus add more islands and sidequests.
There's so much potential in this sequel that was limited by the hardware of the DS. I certainly welcome a 3D Toon Zelda series always focuses on sailing the seas (and obtaining boat pieces like in Phantom Hourglass). Of course, adding new items in each game.
C51WG for me! Favourites so far are Mancala, Yacht Dice, President, 9 Man Morris and Carom
@BenAV
Same here!
Xenoblade Chronicles DF
I played some Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero (need to finish before I play the new one) and then some Assassin’s Creed Origins on my PC
