Nah...I'm good. Still playing SoR4.
I am good this week, but I am looking forward to next week since as far as I am aware, Star Wars Episode 1 Racer is on eShop next week, Looking forward to playing that again!
Already downloaded Lonely Mountains: Downhill and look forward to giving it a go in a bit. Quite curious about SuperMash but I'll need to see some reviews/impressions before I commit to that. Also somewhat interested in Void Bastards but I couldn't find whether or not it has gyro aiming and will probably wait for a sale even if it does as it's a little pricey. Already downloaded the Groove Coaster DLC from the Japanese eShop last week.
'80s Overdrive is pretty much a must for me. Tempted by Void Bastards, too.
Nothing for me this week.
I’m tempted to get Spirit Of The North, but waiting to read a review first. It looks great, but wanted to see how it plays 😊
@BenAV Hi, could you please let me if Lonely Mountains is worth buying? Thank you 👍🏻😊
@Bucket had the same issue, bought them both 😉
@MattAllsopp From what I watched of the PC version on Youtube a while back, it looks like a lot of fun. Nintendo Life's review is already up if you haven't seen it yet (they gave it a 9).
80's overdrive... done!
Switch eShop - Special Offer Highlights. Where is the full list?
@BenAV Thank you. I’ve got a limited budget until I get paid and there’s about 3 games on my radar. This, Spirit Of The North and an 80’s pixel side scroller that’s out next Tuesday (it’s name escapes me at the moment, but it looks great from the trailer) 👍🏻😊
Today's Arcade Archives game is MagMax, the 1985 Nichibutsu shooter.
I purchased Dresden Files on Tuesday and have yet to dive in. I really enjoy card games on the Switch and this is not one I have played in physical form so thought i would give it a go at the cheaper price.
I have read it is hard but enjoyable once you figure out the actual puzzle of the game.
@MattAllsopp Started playing now and already having a lot of fun with it. If you do get it, make sure to try out both steering styles to see what you prefer. I started with the 'screen based' steering as I thought I'd find it easier and died like a billion times on the first trail, then tried it again with 'left/right' and didn't die a single time so I guess I know which I prefer, haha.
@antster1983 thanks for the update. I love that game so will probably get that, too.
I want Ion Fury but £25 seems a bit steep.
@BenAV Ha ha, thanks Ben, I’ll bear that in mind 👍🏻 Enjoy 😊😊
How much is 80's Overdrive, it's the only game listed without a price, I'm tempted....
@BANJO 9,99 €
@infernogott great, thank you.
Does anyone know if they made game design changes or improvements to 80s Overdrive compared to the 3DS version? I've heard about some pretty severe issues with that game. I'm not talking about visuals.
I was going to pick up 80's Overdrive but watched some footage and it just looks incredibly slow with zero sense of speed.
Ah well.
As a professional copy editor and frequent contributor to Nintendo Life, I absolutely must voice my distaste for the incorrect usage of the apostrophe.
'80s would denote a contraction of "1980". 80's implies ownership.
CMON.
@TheFullAndy It is slow, initially, no doubt about it. But you win money to upgrade your car, so it gets faster as you progress - 80's Overdrive is pretty much Lamborghini: American Challenge for the Amiga/SNES/Game Boy, but with a new coat of paint.
My only issue with it so far that, apart from feeling slow before some upgrades, the controls are pretty laggy. I'm not sure whether steering response and sensitivity is gimped, like the speed, from the beginning, but either way, using the Joy Con analog stick is horrific and no fun at all. The directional buttons are much, much better, but not still not perfect. I'm pumping my winnings into the handling to see if it makes much of a difference - which I think it is. I've already shelled out for a handling upgrade, and I'm pretty sure it feels a little better.
Still, for AU $15, it's worth it so far. I like the structure, the visuals are gorgeous and the music is totally race-worthy
@AJB83
Hmmm pretty major con you mention to the positives. Don't think I could endure the slowness at the start. Honestly the clips I watched made 50cc in Mario Kart look fast.
Think I am gonna leave it unless there is a patch or something.
Appreciate you taking the time to let me know your thoughts!
No Episode I Racer?
@Fandabidozi news said on 12th May, so you have to wait till next week.
Presentation of 80‘s Overdrive is phenomenal in graphics and sound, but because of the controls and the behavior of obstacle cars I never feel in control of the game. Obstacle cars are not changing lines as in OutRun, but suddenly bumping left and right over several lines like a pinball, hitting you in the side and leaving you in a full stop and with repair costs higher than your price money, leaving you frustrated already on the first three tracks. And it gets even worse in later levels with more dense traffic and police cars hunting you down. - I played many racing games of this kind back in the 80s and 90s (Crazy Cars, Lotus, OutRun, Chase HQ, just to name a few), but never felt so out of control like in this game. What a pity, I really tried to like the game...
SuperMash is pretty fun if you like gaming history or just old-school games. A button is jump for some stupid reason tho.
As with all random generators it stands and falls based on variety. I can unfortunately report it does get repetitive after a few hours. It has tons of potential tho!
I liked what I've played but at the same time it needs a lot more of everything to truly shine.
It could become an indie jewel but at the moment it's no more than a intriguing concept. 6/10
80´s overdrive seems voir I le in every footages I’ve watched. Not the speed. It the controls and other cars
What a deception. Sega ages Outrun is waaaay better
@vanYth
It’s been delayed 😰
