Honestly, all games should match by input device. It’s one of the best improvements to online games in recent years and should be applied to everything.

haha imagine crying and whinging at losing in a vieogame, when crossplay has been what people have been wanting. Cannot have your cake and eat it it seems.

I think this is brilliant. They should market this feature, imagine all the young kids on Switches getting wailed on by evil PC players. Then mum/dad finds out, remembers they used to "own" at this game, boots up his PC and shows his kids what a true Jedi looks like.
They should add an indicator for which servers have PC players in. Perhaps have a few designated as Switch only for the cry babies.
Even better they simply add Mouse and keyboard support for Switch too(if it doesn't already). This has actually made me consider rebuying this game (own on PC and Xbox)

The bigger problem is that you can’t play online with friends - only strangers.

I can’t belive no one’s mentioned this. We’re not all a bunch of 8 year olds playing games on the couch with our friends, some of us are adults with friends and family hundreds of miles apart. And especially with the current quarantines in place, it’s even more important to play online with friends.

Just finished the story and tried to get into a online match. Didn’t work for me. Couldn’t connect in any way.

@sanderev Except Switch users can't select specific servers. PC players can freely come in. Be it unintentional oversight or not, don't be a dishonest actor and make this out to be like Rocket League or Fortnite.

Just a heads up the game has a bot mode so you can play the MP mode offline solo against bots, its great for practising and getting the hang of things.

They just want to feel what Anakin felt when he “took care” of the younglings.

I haven't picked it up yet so I cannot tell if keyboard & mouse really gives you advantage.

But if it's similar to any other fps shooters... then this is totally unfair and it shouldn't be allowed.

Every one wants cross-play until a PC player plays really good, then they're called cheaters.

Nearly bought this game yesterday, I'm definitely not gonna make the plunge if there are sweaty, PC players.

You know one input type is clearly superior when it's automatically labelled as cheating. Not the first time this has happened and won't be the last.

@sanderev the people that want cross play for this type of game are the bigger consoles, the majority of the players on switch want cross play for Co op games.

Funny, because I came up on pc players as well and they SUCKED!.

These are not the cross players you are looking for.

PC would clearly have an advantage in cross play over the Switch on any game.. PC has much higher frame rates, low input lag gaming monitors, mouse/keyboard and the ability to change to perfect settings on the mouse.. This game is soo old I also wouldn’t be surprised if the PC players are modding as well.

Even without cheats, the hardcore Jedi Knight/Academy community was always on PC anyway and the games have always played best with mouse/keyboard.

Also worth mentioning- no custom games and you can't play with Nintendo Switch friends at all! You cant even make party!

c'mon NintendoLife... report on the huge missing features from this botched port!

@popey1980 the whole aspects are different from platform to platform. It's not the same. If the developers made it the same across the board it would be fine but they didn't.

@Szczelec35 it's actually about there are huge differences in the ports. If the game was the same across the board it wouldn't matter but as it is PC players have a edge. So when they patch the game it will be easier to need PC players to even the playing field so don't be crying when that happens which you will of course.

Account Banning needs to happen here. If you have to Cheat to win you obviously don't need to be Online but Offline. The Company needs to Ban those Cheater lifetime Banned. This will teach them a Lesson dearly. Anyone that needs to cheat to win online so-called win are LOOSERS in LIFE.

@Szczelec35 Just having a faster fps is a advantage, let alone response time and overall performance meaning faster spawn times. It's not only switch players and as for the keyboard mouse it is a big advantage. You cannot even argue that it is not a advantage. Players are dying by PC players before they spawn in game on their end.
Now I don't even play the game. I don't like it or the stat wars series period. I'm not defending any console or PC I am just stating facts. You clearly have no idea about anything technical and don't have a true gaming rig if you don't know or see the difference.

I don’t see how it’s fun hunting new players. Especially if you are playing keyboard and mouse. Why not attack people that are at your level and have a challenge rather than trying to ruin the game for new players? This kind of stuff slows the growth of a playerbase.

Also, can the joycons be used as a swingy lightsaber type thing? Or used to aim like a wiimote type thing? I don't have the game..... Yet.

Hey umm kinda scared I get them getting in and being more advanced by playing for a longer time then switch by a mile but im not worried about that.. I just joined a game and a guy hacked the server it said fix your security and he turned off the powers!? It was sabers only so can pc players make servers for switch to join how did this happen?

Perhaps you found a couple of those PC sweats that play the game on PC? And the calling out of such lowlife behaviour & clowns like that really got them in their feelings? Especially seeing how personally they seem to personally take it. Lol The funny thing is that these people are probably lower rung trash in their PC community.

I've noticed that the ones that would do something like that are most likely those who are straight trash garbage on PC so they do s**t like that to bump up rheir K/d, stats or whatever. Wherw as most PC players that I know want the level playing field & challenge that comes with it. Which is one big reason why they only use their consoles for single player experiences, exclusives & such.

Funny that some are saying imagine whining over a video game while defending or validating such behavior. As what's even funnier (and a LOT more parhetic) is being such a loser in life that you go through extra steps & jump through hoops to get an advantage in a video game. Too trash to take those on the same level playing field on, so you go somewhere where you'll likely have an advantage (be it the the control scheme/interface, a pool of players green to the game, different optimizations or what have you).

So yeah, while they're mentoring imagining something I could NEVER imagine being thar pathetic & having so little going on in my life that I'd ever eed to do such things to wring some kind of enjoyment out of such a dismal existence.

Hey can someone try free for all? I think pc broke its servers been trying for hours every other game mode works but free for all is the best.

Holy crap. This should be banned. You should be matchmade by input device. Not system. Xbox owners have the ability to use mouse and keyboard on their system, so if that's the case, they should be matched up with PC players, not other console owners. Totally not Jedi-like at all.

So what I want to know is....Jedi Academy on PC has both a community vote for map rotation and the ability to automatically download custom maps you don't already have that are on the server or hosted by the person calling the swap.

So....if two PC players join, call a vote to swap to one of a variety of AWESOME custom maps that have been made by the nearly 20 year old community over there, do the switch players then get to download free DLC and have it available to play in offline mode on the go? Because what made Jedi Academy awesome was that the devs released their dev kits to the community and encouraged mapmaking, playable character modelling, and even total conversions of the game to other settings. Eventually, the whole source code for JO was released by Raven. It was one of the easiest (and free) places to learn how to develop 3D maps and write bot maps for, and annual mapmaking competitions were a thing two to three years ago.
