The news comes just days after a couple of store listings and a PEGI rating were spotted. Well this is some good news. I might finally give these games the time of day, always interested me but never took the dive.
This is awesome. I’ll definitely be picking this up on day one.
I’ve heard of this series but I was never sure what the game was like. Is it like Fallout, Wolfenstein, or more of a tactical war shooter?
Not really the type of thing that excites me but assuming there's (well implemented) gyro aiming, maybe, I guess.
Good news! Nice, good addition, definitely.
The link to pre-order says that it's available on Amazon but Amazon has got nothing for it yet.
Am I right in thinking they slated this for release on Nintendo consoles, but canned that version before the games even came out? How times change..
Not my thing but I’m glad it’s coming. Need more of the popular genres to sell so my niche games can keep taking a chance. Go go Switch!
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
OMG. Two of my all-time favourite fps masterpieces on my favourite piece of tech!!! Once more for those in the back;
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
@NotTelevision it's a super intense atmospheric journey, more like Wolfenstein than Fallout.
Where is Exodus?
I'm going to be all over this. Was looking forward to the Wii U version which never happened.
Will wait to hear about how well they run and how good they look on switch, but I'm definitely interested. Never played any of the series before.
Yes, you can ignore the smash announcement going on at the same time because it is another fire emblem character. I’m glad that metro is coming to the switch though!
Very nice, definitely picking this up. That ranger edition is a pretty sweet package. 👍
@Savino Deep Silver's website makes it sound like it's being handled by 4A Games themselves, but it may be referring to the original redux collection in general rather than the Switch port specifically.

Awesome game, but surely going to wait for a performance review and discount on the physical version. I already finished Last Light so double dipping for full price is not worth it.
Both games on the cart!? Must buy for me!!!
I said that AAA titles would dry up this year. I said I hoped I was wrong.
And I am. Yes!
Nice, they're both solid games!
Price??? No mention of it
@Swoltacular agreed. Most people on here will justify the price, wait, downgraded performance and visuals (even for the last gen ports) for the portability aspect.
Bought but never played on Steam. I'll be happy to get them and play them on Switch instead.
I’ll be getting this on physical. Support good packaging. Plus, these are decent games too.
Awesome, there's no need to download the rest of the game since all of the content is on the cartridge.
@Swoltacular you can blame 3rd party games coming late or never on Nintendo, not on the developers. Nintendo could’ve choose stronger hardware with a $349 usd price tag but chose an already outdated, and weak tegra x1. This makes it where developers have to work way longer, and harder just to get it optimized enough to work on the switch.. this is another reason why is as switch users get bad ports with performance issues all the time.
Pleasingly, for the physical version, all DLC content will be included be on the 16GB cart. Nice one.
All this when the 64gb cart are coming out? Why not use this????
Need to know where I can get CE PreOrdered.
@NotTelevision Its like Fallout without RPG elements and more like being a tactical shooter where you can be Rambo or you can be Sam Fisher. Both games have evil and good endind.
is this multiplayer... i miss my call of duty multiplayer and although we do get some fps it sure seems that multiplayer is not a priority. Personally i never play fps for the story. I get thats just me but clearly there has to be a number similar to me if a few years ago call of duty released without a story mode. PLease someone make me a death match which would be perfect on a system which has wireless play.
Day one buy for me if that means both games and their DLCs are all on the cartridge. It'll probably perform in a much lower setting but to have it on the go would be sweet.
@HardcoreDaBoss I would be happy with just PS3/Xbox 360 ports, to be honest. The Switch is more than capable for that
Metro Exodus will do until Fallout 3 or 4. Also, 2 game carts in the package? What is this sorcery?
Even though I have this on PS4 and started it, for some reason I didn't go back to it. Both games come complete on the cart with the DLC? If so that will be a day 1 pick up. Hopefully added (optional) gyro aiming will be included as well.
Never played these before. Are they like a Resident Evil fps?
@Mgene15 £45 on Amazon. Remember people have a choice. Nobody is forced to buy. Don't like the price then don't buy. Simple as that!
Nice! We are getting a proper physical edition! I'm buying it!
Day one for me!!
@NintendoByNature Somewhat(there are no puzzles), it's a slow survival immersive claustrophobic FPS that was inspired by the books Metro 2033&2034(would recommend the books, they're fantastic). If you're expecting fast gameplay like Doom, Far Cry, COD, and Wolfenstein, this is not for you.
@MsJubilee good to know. While im very claustrophobic in real life, i like that feeling in games. Looks like ill probably take a flyer on these next month.
Also, kinda sounds like doom 3??
Both games? Physical? All DLC? February!? Im there Bro!!!
I have never played these games. How do they compare to horror shooters like RE4? Similar gameplay?
I've just pre-ordered mine with Amazon - £45. I've never played the series before and looking forward to the experience. I just hope they run smoothly
So I guess, by transitive association, that this means the other rumored games via retailer listing are coming as well most likely? Bioshock, Metro, and what was the 3rd game? Someone said Red Dead yesterday, which would be amazing, but doubtful as that rumor was purely based on the control in the game files....
Yep. After hearing the rumors, it has come to pass. I have this on my Xbox One X and PC. NOW... I guess the Switch as well🤷🏾♂️
@TIND @Palico_extremeru Nice sounds like one I’ll keep on my radar.
@NintendoByNature It's actually kind of like a sci-fi survival horror mixed with a first person shooter. Most review sites actually also label it as a "survival fps". The story follows the books, which as already mentioned by @MsJubilee are great, and how I see it, both the books and games are centered around a real world idea of how people would survive underground in a post-nuclear world, mixed with fantasy horror elements, with all kinds of monsters and abnormalities roaming the countryside, due to mutations because of all the radiation polluting the environment.
I suppose it kind of sounds like Fallout to the uninitiated, but it is without the RPG elements, and it's more gritty. I'd almost say how you'd expect a Russian version of such a game would be.
Here's a gameplay video of the Redux version of the first game (Metro 2033), to give you some idea of how it looks and plays, and what it's all about:
@NotTelevision on the eShop for preload now, absolutely cannot go wrong at the price they're charging ($32 each in Canada )
@NotTelevision it's quite good. I remember this flying freak of nature chasing me over some icy part and not knowing where to go and running out of ammo.i liked my first impression so worth a shot to play on switch handheld aswell is win.
@ThanosReXXX seems really neat. Wiping goggles off to see, multiple endings. Pretty close to being a day 1 buyer.
It’s times like these when it pays off putting certain games off, only to then appear on the Switch with a physical Edition.
We could see a large wave of 3rd party support on the Switch seeing as the PS4 and XBOX ONE are at the end of their life cycle. With Witcher 3 proving that bigger, current gen games can be ported and an increased game card size, the sky is truly the limit.
2020 will be a year full of surprises especially for our hybrid console. Keep them coming!
@gcunit well that’s a waste of money and it’ll definitely be better on pc.
Both games on one card with DLC and no download codes?? Other publishers take notice!! It can be done!
Looks interesting going to get them most likely and dmc 3 too next month woo !!
Don't know if I'd be willing to double dip for 50 bucks. Maybe I'll wait until it drops in price.
@sandman89
Guess that it's a good thing it is not your money or choice then huh?
@Dirty0814 yeah it’s only £22 on steam. And think it was around £10 when on sale
ok I'm starting to get a little bit concerned we might get a March Nintendo Direct
Sitting in the corner waiting for a portable GTA V or IV to land on switch.
50 bucks for the exact two remastered X360/PS3 games that had arrived for 40 on the PS4/X1 duo, 5 years ago...?
I'll wait for a sale.
@HardcoreDaBoss It's still so funny when you see people actually believing this kind of garbage. The reason ports come late is because they all ask the same question, "can this sell on a Nintendo?", because most people incorrectly correlate Nintendo with 'kiddy'. The ONLY reason this port is coming is because Exodus vastly underperformed (the entire series is mediocre at best) and they need a bump to support their next project. Many developers of come out and said it's been surprisingly easy to port to the Switch, what takes them a bit longer is usually compression and removing particle effects.
With the Switch outperforming the Xbox, it's a no-brainer to put this collection on it. Why didn't it happen earlier? Simple, they didn't think there was a market. The specs have literally never mattered, developers look at sales potential, not how pretty they can make the game.
