After launching on PC back in December 2014, The Talos Principle is launching on Switch later today almost five years to the day after its debut.
It's a single-player game from Croatian developer Croteam, the creators of the Serious Sam series, and launched to widespread acclaim five years ago. A first-person narrative puzzler, it features over 120 environmental head-scratchers and has you exploring ancient ruins littered with sexy tech.
Here's a list of the key features from the game's page, followed by a few screenshots:
- Overcome more than 120 immersive puzzles in a stunning world.
- Divert drones, manipulate laser beams and even replicate time to prove your worth - or to find a way out.
- Explore a story about humanity, technology and civilization. Uncover clues, devise theories, and make up your own mind.
- Choose your own path through the game's non-linear world, solving puzzles your way.
No word yet on exactly what makes this the 'Deluxe Edition', but we'll let you know as soon as we find out. It'll take up 3.5GBs of space on your Switch and will set you back $29.99. We'll investigate as soon as possible to let you know how the Switch version holds up, but it's certainly nice to see it on Nintendo's console.

Very nice, heard good things about this one. I really enjoy the Serious Sam series as well, so this will be a definite purchase from me.
Recommendation for all from me! Really liked the game a lot when I played it on Steam!
Is this going to fill a Myst sized hole
In my soul?
Fantastic game. I quite loved my time with it originally.
@CairiB Perhaps and perhaps not. As a Myst fan I'll say it definitely nailed a similar atmosphere, but the gameplay is very different.
That said, there's a good chance I'll play it again on Switch... I never did get to finish it on PC. It's just so good for short bursts.
Good Game... but I got it for like $7 at a PS+ members sale. Not sure I play it again.
"No word yet on exactly what makes this the 'Deluxe Edition'"
if same as the PS4 version (also labeled The Talos Principle - Deluxe Edition)
It is a four episode expansion pack. Also good.
Made by Croteam - the guys behind The Serious Sam games. Which makes me wonder, what are the chances of the first two SS games landing on Switch? I would totally buy them.
I played this for a couple hours on PC hoping to recapture a similar sense of satisfaction to what I got out of playing Portal. Not that it's a bad game by any means, but I ended up being disappointed :/
finally, I'll actually play this.
Bought this recently super cheap on a Steam sale. It's alright. Certainly not one of those games that tempts me to double-dip in order to play on the Switch.
@link3710 thought that might be the case, it’s certainly on my radar, maybe not top of my list right now but a definite maybe.
@NightBeast My thoughts exactly, can we get Serious Sam on Switch already?
@CairiB
Afraid not, it's very much a puzzle game. Not an adventure.
It's something that I might try at some point down the line, if it goes on sale for the right price.
This game is awesome. Absolutely love the puzzles. Can’t wait!!
So many games I have already played....seems like most high quality releases on Switch are old games .
I was like, day one, day one for sure during apresentation.... Saw the price... Move along, Nothing to see here.. I think the publishers already set price to make promotions... What is a mistake, because by that time my interest already moved to another game
