Update 5/9/19 9:10AM BST: We've had confirmation from Rising Star Games that Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing In Disguise is a Switch exclusive at launch. Other platforms are not being discussed at this stage, says the publisher.
Original Story: 4/9/19 11:50PM BST: SWERY65's follow-up to the cult classic Deadly Premonition is coming to Switch, it was revealed today.
Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing In Disguise will launch next year, and will place the player in the shoes of FBI agent Aaliyah Davis. She's on the trail of a serial killer in Boston – a case which links to a 14-year-old case that involved fellow FBI agent Francis York Morgan, the main character of the original. You'll assume control of both individuals, and their stories will interlink with one another as the game progresses.
In case you missed the original, Deadly Premonition: Origins is available right now on the Switch eShop, and a physical Collector’s Edition will launch in November, thanks to from Aksys Games (North America) and Numskull Games (Europe).

That is awesome. Deadly Premonition is such a fun, weird little game.
First I've heard of this series, looks pretty interesting.
I need that collector's edition. I have Deadly Premonition on 360 but I want to play it in handheld mode in bed with headphones on.
Does anyone know what time the "available now" games/dlc will be up?
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YYYYYYES!!!!!
I'm hyped. The first is hilarious and I love it.
In That Scene From Troll 2 Voice
OH
MY
GOD!!!!!!!!!
Time to triple dip and buy this game yet again, and I HAD NO IDEA A SEQUEL WAS COMING!!!
Gorram. I was having a pretty crappy day, but this has made everything better.
Isn't that right, Zach?
I was shocked to see this.
Never played the original, but it's legacy is legendary, I always heard of it as a terrible, yet amazing game, the quintessence of "so bad is good" for gaming.
I wonder if the switch port will be a fixed version or if it will be as "original" as the title imply, showing the first game in all its pro and con.
I can't decide is if this or Jedi Outcast was the most left-field announcement.
So how much is it?
This, Obra Dinn , and a HD rerelease of Xenoblade. I’m legitimately freaked that Nintendo has me strapped to a chair with a cable jammed into the pleasure center of my brain.
I have never been more excited for a video game, this was the best non-Nintendo game of the last generation and it seems Nintendo noticed. If it second game exclusive? I am so happy!
i cant believe this.
@whanvee it's $45 AUD, so if imagine roughly $30 USD/GBP
Never heard of this franchise, what is it like?
@NintendoByNature
It's Twin Peaks: The Video Game.
i'm still in disbelief, DP1 is a gem of a game that everyone should play
@Coach_A much obliged might just have to pull the trigger
This is incredible, I remember the first time I finished this game on ps3! Waiting for the switch physical release!😃👏🏼
@the_shpydar its twin peaks meets silent hill, which itself was twin peaks meets call of cthulhu. Except dp is more twin peaks less silent hill-ish
@Darlinfan
Given how the events of the first game play out (no spoilers for those who haven't played it!), having Francis York Morgan go the Dougie Jones route could be awesome.
The best worst game ever made. For those that don't understand it and don't like it I feel nothing but sorrow. Not really screw them.
Raincoat killer has been my psn avatar since playstation 3 version which was the directors cut. I am trying to find out if orgins is that version only reason why it is not dling right now.
Deadly Premonition 2 is a Switch exclusive too.
I had an unpleasant feeling that this game would be announced.
Switch launch exclusive makes it sound like it's a game that was available at the launch of the switch
Looks a bit janky tbh.
@Scollurio
That's part of its it so bad it's good charm, one of my favourite ps3_ games. Nothing quite like it
@suikoden Ah - so kinda like "Indigo Prophecies" which was weird too.
@Scollurio and
This makes that look completely normal. Just something about this game i can't he!p but love. Never usually buy anything that's not on sale on the eshop but made an exception for this
@gamer95
Then the directors cut was released for ps3 and it got a 7

Looks in coffee, sees FK
Great news! Deadly Premonition is a zany, quirky little gem... though not to everyone's taste it must be said. If you're a Twin Peaks fan though... the coffee is great in this one!
The misleading title makes it sound like this game was a Switch launch exclusive like c'mon the Switch was launch a long time ago that is unless you mean the Switch Lite launch which will happen in a few weeks from now.
@retro_player_22 it's actually exclusive to the Switch and won't be released on other platforms when the game launches.
@retro_player_22 No, it means when the title launches it will be exclusive to the Switch for the foreseeable future.
the original was ether a 1/10 or a 10/10 game me i really liked Deadly Premonition
@echoplex Could had just said Switch exclusive. Anyways I'm glad it's a Switch exclusive cause we need more of those.
@gamer95
It's supposed had more improvements so it's not the train wreck that got a 2.
Also its the version that got a two, so your score is as pointless as mine.
Did I say it was the directors cut. No all i did was post a link that shows it's not as bad as a 2/10.
@retro_player_22
Exactly , very poorly worded.
That game you like is going to come back in style.
Awesomeness! Hear that, Zach?
However, I hope A Blessing in Disguise is getting a physical release like Origins is. Need them both in my collection, along with my PS3 collector's edition.
Not into digital - I like to truly "own" my things, maybe re-play them 20+ years down the road.
