Gal Metal launches early next year, and DMM Games has released a new trailer which shows how the game's drumming mechanics work.
As you can see, the aim is to shake the JoyCon controllers in time with the music - as you perform, a group of 3D characters jam out. Rawk.
Gal Metal is scheduled for launch in Japan on February 8th, 2018 and will cost 4,980 Yen. There's no word on a western release at present, but we remain hopeful - if you're in the same camp then be sure to check out our interview with the game's designer here.

Hm...
Weird way to play Drum Kit.
Btw, how about this song from DrumMania Konami ?
You must play it in EXTREME Way !
Looks interesting and fun
Good ole Japanese, they have to put a school uniform in there
Probably another Japan exclusive really. At this rate we got around 200 games. They've probably got near on 300.
japan e-shop account, here i come
Looks interesting! The video, especially the voice-over, is horribly un-metal though...
Not as epic as the Wii E3 drummer!
That was INTENSE!
Looks fun enough. I still want a Babymetal crossover, though.
This is must-have, but 4,900 yen is too pricey.
Love how that voice says "Niin-tendo Sviitch!"
@Moms-Meowth Actually, the western regions are ahead because Japan has to wait for their versions of our indie titles. Last I checked, they're behind by 50-60 titles.
There's also only a handful of Japanese-only games. They're the Dynasty Warriors games, Warriors Orochi, Nobunaga's Ambition, Senran Kagura, and a couple others. Maybe a total of 10 (I'm at work, I can't verify until later)
i hope it works as well as they promise. and i hope that there will be rumble feedback when you hit the drums. edit: they released a second trailer today that confirms that hd rumble is supported! yay!
@gcunit 4980 yen is actually the price without tax. you need to add 8 % = 5378 yen (40 Euro)
I want this game bring it over.. whichever publisher. Take my money.
Is there an option to secure a joy-con to each leg for full-on 4-limb drumset action? It ain't rock n roll without all extremities moving independently. Insert dirty joke here. Then there.
