It doesn’t seem like it was all too long ago that update 3.0 came to ARMS, adding in Lola Pop, yet here we are now with just another day to go until 4.0 comes out. We knew that this version was going to be adding in a new attack type, a new fighter, a new stage, and other goodies and now Nintendo has opted to show the reveal trailer for the new character.
The new fighter is named Misango, and he seems to be an Aztec themed fighter who will utilize poison attacks to fight his enemies. He also has a series of swappable masks that each seem to bestow different powers and buffs, it seems that he’ll be quite the technical fighter.
What do you think? Will you be playing as Misango much? Who’s your favorite character? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

He’s got a neat set of abilities but in practice I can’t stand playing with his default arm selection. Why do they all have the poison attribute? I took him into the “Get Arms” game immediately and fixed that.
I was messing around with him a little bit tonight, he's definitely an interesting addition to the Arms roster with his mask ability, I'm not a huge fan of the new arms though
Holy crap! Is this a JoJo reference?
Cool that the game is still being supported. But I still only enjoy it in person with friends.
Missingno?
Looks like a great New character who ads more variety and strategy.
Arms just keeps getting better.
Glad I bought it, but love that Nintendo had supported it so strongly!
My first impression was cool another awesome looking fighter. I have to applaud Nintendo with ARMS. All the characters including Lola Pop from the last update have been really unique and interesting.
I've taken Misango for a spin and I really like the little spirit companion that you can use for armour. Keep them coming Ninty.
@TobiasAmaranth Aw, you beat me to it XD
@Ervex_109 I doubt that they added him because of politics.
Mexico happens to be a rather big market for fighting games since the 90's. Which is why most of the most popular fighting games out there feature (often loosely based) Mexican or Hispanic characters.
Anywhoo, its a neat addition.
I'm a sucks for anything Aztec/Mayan/Inca, so I'm gonna have to give this boy a spin.
Wow, a character that looks like a mix of lucio and genji with the abilities of shulk? I must try him tonight
Nintendo announces Darlington, right out of the woolie hole.
Are people still playing Arms?
Are people still playing Arms?
I’m looking forward to trying him out later.

@YANDMAN I wasn’t, so the new content helps!
@JoeDiddley it seems to have dropped off/died rapidly.
He looks like a mix of Tarzan, Lucio and Captain Falcon.
He looks badass awesome! I’m definitely going to try his moves next to playing Rocket League and Skyrim!
@Ervex_109 wow rude, I don’t think he’s trying to insult you or anything
Seems like a interesting character to use. Should really pick this game up when I got the money
@Ervex_109
Does being kinda tribal/shamanic looking really qualify as 'promoting Mexican culture'?
The face masks, the poison skull weapon, the scorpions all give off a kinda African vibe to me. Probably a combination of many different cultural influences in the way Lola Pop was (particularly her stage theme sounding French/Italian/Spanish)
I will give it a try and will need to take my hat off for Nintendo if they can make another great fighter (lola pop is my favourite at this point)
@Ervex_109
Yeah, the author of the article said he 'seems' to be an Aztec themed fighter, that's fair enough, he has that vibe, but that's far from official confirmation - Arms is not set in the real world and the characters are all composited of various cultural influences.
After a quick and highly scientific google search, Misango seems to correspond to a type of beaded hat or headdress originating from the Democratic Republic of Congo - this makes sense as his name can't just be random and the material his arms are made of is similar in some ways to the woven threads used to make the Misango hats, which I found pretty interesting at least.

Edit: Seems likely that his name may also be a play on the word Misanga, a type of native american friendship bracelet which may in fact be what his arms are.
@MsJubilee
Awaken my new fighter!
@YANDMAN Well, I'm playing it still regularly.
Misango, Amigos !
Looks awesome will check it out this weekend.
Which is he in the data mined leaks?
I already like him better than FANG, the poison fighter from Street Fighter V.
Too bad not many people play ARMS anymore... It deserves more love. If only it released in a window away from Splatoon then it would have a bit more success.
Still playing, still like it.
I think he’s my new main, move over Ribbon Girl!
@Ervex_109 "It's great to see Nintendo promoting Mexican culture so prominently this year, especially in light of recent political events. Long may it continue"
My reply to that line of thinking was:
" I doubt that they added him because of politics. Mexico happens to be a rather big market for fighting games since the 90's. Which is why most of the most popular fighting games out there feature (often loosely based) Mexican or Hispanic characters. Anywhoo, its a neat addition"
I honestly do not understand why my reply got you so emotionally upset. To the point you accuse me of twisting your words. As if I had said:"YOU ARE SO WRONG. You're dead wrong and should be ashamed for even making the assertion that any dev that adds a Mexican is obviously making a political statement "
I simply commented that something like what I implied didn't happen. Not accusing you of anything because YOU didn't said that, obviously. I did.
Jeeesus some people here need to chill the f up.
@Yasaal
Yo !
Wanna play ARMS with me ?
I will have Nintendo Switch on December 2017, according to my plan.
Also, i had the game as well since last June 2017.
Maybe if lucky enough, i can meet you and you can meet me during Online Match.
I still haven't Switch yet, but i will think better name for my Switch username.
By the way, even never before play, my character's choice are Springman / Max Brass / Misango / Ribbon Girl.
You are not alone, buddy.
I used to be a Min Min player. She was my main from the very beginning. But now I've changed to Misango, probably for good. Everything about his design, stage and weapons speak to me. Love this guy!
How long will Nintendo support the game with new characters/stages/modes? I will buy the game once all content has been added only because I was so busy with Zelda, Mario Kart, Mario + Rabbids and currently with Odyssey and next month Xenoblade 2. Can't wait to buy the game with all the added content, love the art style, characters and stages.
Cool character design, but Min Min for the Win Win for me.
this character seems interesting. so far it is a lot better than the last character that they added to the game.
i think the last playable character that they added was a clown. it made me want to stop playing the game for a while as well as making me understand why some people have a fear of clowns...
@Oat i thought its more like hes star platinum
@Ervex_109 Aaaah, shut up.
What a pretentious fool.
@Anti-Matter Oh so you're gonna get a Switch? Great! But unfortunately due to my wallet already being leaked out month after month of Switch releases I had to unfortunately skip a few games like Pokken, ARMS and more. So I didn't get the game. When it releases I had two options, either to buy ARMS or Splatoon, 50 hours of Splatting later and I'm not regretting that decision
I don't have ARMS (lol, that sounds weird), but the character looks cool!
@Ervex_109 You overreact to so much, I’ve resigned to thinking you’re putting on an act so that I don’t lose faith in humanity.
He's a tough one to master, but I'm loving this constant supply of free DLC.
