We'd also love to hear what you think about Nintendo's decision not to release the 'Standard' size console in North America, were you planning on buying that?
Let us know what you think in the polls and comments - thanks for your time!

Every time I see a poll with monster hunter in it I get sad because I realize just how popular it isn't.... OT I am greatly disappointed that the standard model was shunned and though we may be seeing a release eventually, which I doubt will happen, it would be even more aggravating.
Well, I was lucky enough here in the States to get the Majora's Mask Edition through Best Buy. But to be honest, I kind of only got it pre-ordered in time to avoid the future regret because of the damn scalpers nowadays.
I'd rather just have the Limited Edition MM that comes with Skull Kid... Maybe I could work a trade with somebody on ebay for it...hmm...
For the 3 things I like best about New 3DS, I picked additional buttons, but just working buttons is a vote for me. My A and B button have been not so great the last few months, I'm regulated to RPGs and touch screen control games, which isn't a horrible thing, because I can't trust the buttons to react for quick twitch games.
There should've been a 'sticking with my current 2DS' option in the first poll, heh(or just lumped in with the same option for original 3DS).
Either way, because of the lack of the standard model of the n3DS(along with everything that personally makes it better), I have no interest in upgrading to a 'new' model for the foreseeable future. 2DS love all day e'ryday it is then!
No problem choosing one for me: The standard black will do just fine. I own an original 3DS and like how it fits my pocket perfectly. Even after all these years, I still I carry it around everywhere.
I was planning on buying the white new 3DS but we aren't good enough to get the regular ones in the states. Stupid NoA. Love their games, but they keep making stupid decisions. If it weren't for the games I'd consider abandoning them.
I will hold from buying until they release the standard one in the US. I dont even care at this point if they dont bring any face plates, the xl is just too uncomfortable for me
I have my 3DS since it's launch day in europe and while I prefer the screen over that of the XL it's rather small and it's edges poke in my hand during the longer play periods. the N3DS mostly irons out the issues I have with the regular 3DS so I think I will purchase one eventually but i'm still not sure if it's a day one or pre-order for me.
I know, man. I wanted a white standard myself until NOA slapped us in the face by only putting the XL models on the store shelves. Now, I don't have anything against the XL models, but I wanted the standard model so that it can fit nicely in my pocket and when I want to bring out something fun, I can just reach into my pocket and flip it open.
I seriously hope this is temporary because as of now, my $200 is going to preordering Mario Party 10, Yoshi's Woolly World, Splatoon, a couple of amiibos, etc. I love you, Nintendo and I will continue to support you as you have been my childhood and life and household name, but until you bring the standard-size New 3DS models to the US, you have disappointed me (as well as probably a handful of others).
I already have the Ambassador Edition. Why didn't you guys in America get the standard model? Surely faceplates are a big feature that lots of people want?
Surprised so few people said "exclusive 3rd party games" for the last poll. Have you folks not played an Atlus or Capcom game on the system yet? They're fantastic!
Anyway, hanging onto my current 3DS until a price drop and limited edition Fire Emblem New 3DS.
I for one will be getting the black XL upgrade on day 1. I know that Majora one is probably sold out. I am excited about the New 3DS and look forward to all the new add ons.
I have a white 3DS XL and I won't be upgrading for now. Maybe when there is a game I want that needs the new hardware then I'd think about it, but I have Xenoblade on the Wii and I'd much rather replay it on a big screen than a handheld. I don't play with the 3D on, so I guess that makes ones of the biggest improvements of the new models moot for me. I've never been the sort that goes for limited editions or hardware with game-specific designs on, and it wouldn't surprise me if I just hold on til the next machine. I'm sure it will be able to play any N3DS exclusives that come out.
It's always about the games for me. I don't think I've played a single DS or 3DS game where I felt the second screen improved it. I think back to my favourite games for those consoles and they could all have been done with one screen. As I said above, I don't use 3D, so it's just another gimmick to me. Nintendo could still be putting out single screened handhelds with 2D displays and I'd love them because of the games.
I'm not gonna be getting a New 3DS, unfortunately. Unlike the difference between the DS and the DSi, there just isn't enough here to get me excited or warrant a purchase, not even Xenoblade. I could get the Wii original if needs be. I just don't wanna spend an exotrtionate amount of money on what is essentially a console I already own, just so I can buy I game I could get anyway.
Apparently, I can't just waltz in to my local gamestop and pick up a MH4U bundle. I can do that with the regular new 3ds. They would ship it to my house. What gives? is that normal?
I don't really like the MMN3DS XL. gasp It's too showy/blingy for me. I really like the white N3DS, which I already have. I don't understand why it isn't being released in the US. "'Cos we decided not to" is not an acceptable explanation. Not just the firmware that's region-locked - Nintendo is not global, it's 3 separate regional companies
But the name is ridiculous in whatever region - search for "New 3DS" and you get all 3DS consoles ever released - they are new, but they're not the "New 3DS".
I really like the embossed faceplates so have pre-ordered those. Would have liked a red XL too, but no go here in the UK. A bit crappy all round really, but particularly crappy for those in the US who wanted the regular and have no options at all for it. How's that for expanding consumer choice?
I don't have a 3DS and have no desire to get a New one. That said, I think the C-nub, faster processing, and multi-angle 3D are awesome improvements for those interested in portable gaming. If I were to get a New 3DS, it would of course be Majora's Mask. It's my favorite Zelda game and one of my top 10 games ever.
Been tempted to get a XL for ages... and the New 3DS XL seemed as good a time as any... if I can find a Majora Version... Nintendo has once again taken my money like candy from a baby.
Past couple days I've gone right off getting a n3ds. Just feels like a waste of money at the moment and my red xl will run Majora's Mask no problem.
I'll buy Xenoblade and whatever other exclusives that interest me while I wait for a few more colours to come out. But then again, as others are saying, the next handheld that will be backwards compatible. prob come out next year an all, remember the DSi XL announcement? I sure do, lol.
I did want the white n3ds because of the snes buttons but now I see it as a bit of a cheap money grab.
I really want the MH4U bundle and am quite annoyed that it is GameStop Exclusive... I am fully committed to Best Buy's ecosystem... plus I have a BBY credit card I want to put this on.
I settled for the Majora's Mask version, even though I don't care for it too much. Hmm... maybe I can find someone to trade me the MH4U one since the Majora's Mask is more limited and already sold out at GS and BBY.
I'm going to be honest, I was planning on getting the standard New Nintendo 3DS until I found out that it wasn't coming to NA. I have disliked all of the XL models of the DS and 3DS in the past so much that I now plan on simply repairing/replacing my Aqua Blue Nintendo 3DS through NoA for a lot less money. I understand some people love them, but I dislike the larger size, I dislike the lower quality visuals and I dislike the look of the system. I thought the faceplated model looked quite sharp with the plates on the outside and the SNES style buttons on the inside. I do appreciate the new features, but I'm fine skipping amiibo, playing Xenoblade on the Wii and waiting a few more seconds for Smash to load in order to have a system I like and want to use. This isn't something I feel like debating because it is completely a matter of personal preference.
I think it's bad how the usa did not get the standard edition with cover plates that's a bad sales move it's like they think people in america need everything bigger. I winder what 3DS model sells the most in the usa standard or XL.
I got my ambassador edition last week it's amazing and faster the c-stick can be stiff to use though it needs more thumb movement and the new home button feels cheep. But over all i am impressed the new plates are shiney and mark easy and finger print. Great new console though.
Be gutted if at E3 2015 they say a new nintendo handheld is on the way lol but i think the 3DS has 1 or 2 more years as its a great console.
@Luna-Harmony I haven't seen any sales figures, but I'm certain its because the 3DS XL is a bigger seller. Ever since the 3DS XL was released, all special editions have been 3DS XL only, so I'm sure that has boosted sales figures.
I'm was hoping to get a MM one , but work kept me from getting one in time so, I locked myself in for a red one should more become available, I'll just switch my pre-order over.
@omalleycat215 Yup. I'm essentially holding the pre-order hostage. lol. Thing is, if I end up not wanting the 3DS, I'm NOT going to want to profit off of it. Stupid thing on ebay has already sold for over $400!! The way I see it, I have a few options:
A friend of mine is possibly interested in getting a new 3DS when it comes out, so if I don't want to pay for this one when it comes out, he can buy it off me since I already have a red XL (the new features are a good step up, but I think I can only justify it I if I did a trade in for it...which leads to my next point)
Trade/Sell my current 3DS XL to go towards the new 3DS
Trade with someone on Ebay who will get the Limited Edition MM with Skullkid in a way that allows us both to buy the item for MSRP.
Last option, which is probably a bit optimistic, is to get lucky and find the Limited Edition MM on my own and either cancel my pre-order of the new 3DS or give it to someone else.
I won't be buying a N3DS until there's an exclusive game for it that is a personal must-own, but when that happens, N3DS XL is a must. I have strong prescription glasses and the bigger screen is so much easier to see, and the bigger system is easier on my hands in long play sessions.
I'm certain NA will see a standard N3DS released by Christmas or sometime next year.
I love that the MH4U 3DS XL isn't as popular as the Majora's Mask one. That means that although I can't order one now, maybe they will stull be available at a later date when I can.
I wasn't exactly sure on which New 3DS model should I spend my hard-earned cash on. I've been playing with my Japanese standard New 3DS model since mid-October, and I've found it almost as comfortable as my 3DS XL. On the flip side, I'm kinda curious about the New 3DS XL model, yet I believe it'll be like if I'm holding a slightly less heavier older 3DS XL model.
Nintendo of America left me baffled with their questionable decision to not release the standard New 3DS along with its XL variant, especially when they haven't provided the exact reasons why they went that way. Sure, it's logical that the vast majority of players from Japan and Australia bought the XL over the standard one, so this New 3DS XL model is no-brainer. But it still feels like they wasted a golden opportunity to rack up some dough, even if they don't stock as much as they would on the XL variant. Did they assumed that we Americans all have large hands? Are they still holding their current mantra of focusing on bringing mostly just the "most important" products and often ignore the extras just because of its mainstream audience? I can't further argue on how bad their decision is until NOA actually reveal the justifications that lead to not bring the standard New 3DS model. Sorry, but the fact that "different territories make their own business decisions" doesn't even explain it at all.
Either way, I'm no hurry on purchasing any New 3DS from North America, mainly because its library of new games aren't enough to captivate my attention. It could be a gift for my upcoming birthday or the next Christmas, but this isn't something that would make me insta-buy soon after the New 3DS launched near my home town.
in which thing im mostly interested in for new 3ds, isnt listed because its xenoblade 3d! The only reason why i will buy it yet and cant wait to have it
I know I keep complaining about this, but I'm hoping Nintendo may pay attention to complaints. I want the white standard! And it better have the colored buttons! I have the cash. They make the unit. I don't understand why they don't want my money.
@GodOfPie The rub is that the mh4u nn3dsxl doesn't include all of the stuff included in the mh4u collector's edition. Normally, I would pick up the mh4u nn3dsxl, but the extras in the collector's edition are very appetizing (the figure!). Actually, the mh4uce figure might be of higher quality than the Skull Kid figure included in the LoZ:MMce. Mh4uce also comes in an awesome box (how cool would it be if LoZ:MMce came with a Zelda chest replica? The thought just kills me!). All I'm saying is that the mh4uce is a little too good for me to pass up. Also, one ce is still available, the other is not. Food for thought. (Sorry for the long post and seemingly shilling for mh4uce. Been getting into ce's (PQ: SotL for one). Would love an awesome(r) Zelda ce.) Anyways, thinking of getting the standard nn3dsxl at this rate. Probably my only option with the scalping going on now.
I dunno if it's happening in Europe also but you should take a poll on charger-gate, seems outrageous at least to us Americans, I think it harms Nintendo's image & reputation.
I'm getting the Black XL. I was well on my way to getting the Monster Hunter XL, but then I found out they would ship it to my house instead of me picking it up in-store and I cancelled that order.
Black XL is more "me" anyways. I'm a plain Joe. I like my consoles in Black.
Seeing 'standard New Nintendo 3DS (Black)' as an option is just rubbing salt in my American wounds... It's even worse seeing the header image because, I had been okay with XL only until I say that header with those beautiful faceplates... sigh the Majora's Mask Special Edition though makes up for it i guess...
Like pretty much every other person alive it seems, I was going to go with the Majora's Mask XL, but sold out preorders are pushing me in the MH4 one. I guess it works out because I was planning on downloading MH4 anyway. I haven't had a chance to preorder it quite yet, so I hope that unfortunate circumstances don't occur and make me a liar in the poll.
I currently own only one 3DS model, the cosmo black original Nintendo 3DS. For a while I was considering the XL, but I wasn't willing to fork over $200 for a bigger screen.
Fortunately, Nintendo has stepped up their game with their new portable handhelds. With more power, a bigger screen, face-recognition 3D and more, the New Nintendo 3DS XL is the more sensible option for me. However, will I ever use it much? Will my Wii U automatically single out my 3DS? And what exclusive titles are coming for the new hardware? I can't make up my mind.
Oh, and I'd probably get the Majora's Mask edition.
Given all the games that I care about such as Majora's Mask 3D, Fire Emblem 14, and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate are still playable on my 2DS, I'll just hold off for right now.
After having a my 2DS for awhile, I don't think I can go back to the clam shell design of the other 3DS systems. I love the form of the 2DS, and how it fits in my hand.
So, hopefully Nintendo will come out with a new 2DS that has all the upgraded features of the New 3DS(besides the 3D) but has the form of the 2DS.
Of course, if a large number of games are exclusive to the New 3DS I may change my mind, but for right now, everything I want to play is still coming to my 2DS, so I'm sticking with what works!
@omalleycat215 Yeah, I had a friend of mine pre-order a CE for me, so when I saw this, I was considering dropping it for the XL, but I have decided that I'm staying with the CE, but if possible, I will try and get the XL if I can later when I have the money for it. If I get both, I could transfer my MH4U data from the game card from the CE to the XL's digital copy (using that tool from the eShop), and I'd probably just give the extra copy to one of my friends as a present. But my safest choice would be to at least stay with the CE.
I am was going to get a regular size black New Nintendo 3DS,but it isn't coming out in America.I really don't like the XL form factor. Unfortunately, I need to get a new 3DS because the original one that I got at launch has a broken 3D slider and is in general bad repair.I thought about it and have decided to get the black XL.If Nintendo releases the regular size a few months after I get the XL I will be disappointed and angry.
The things that disappoint me:
1) At EB Games in Australia, the MH4U consoles were strictly one per customer and, last I checked, there were plenty of them available for preorder. The Majora's Mask console had no such restriction, and was completely sold out within the day. Come on, EB, it should have been the other way around. Stoopid scalpers.
2) In Australia, we got only one colour of New 3DS at launch: white (not a colour, I know, but bear with me). I thought, Why didn't they release both black and white, like Japan? Maybe black will come later. Then, I found out that Europe will have both black and white consoles at launch, with no such announcement for Australia. With black as my first colour choice, and no interest in the XL version, this is kind of disappointing. We finally catch a break, only to end up with the short end of the stick.
If they'd release the standard New 3DS in this country I was going to be very tempted...but I do not want an XL model so I guess I'll stick with mine and just not play Xenoblade on it.
Probably the New Black XL out of lack of a better choice. I don't want a Majora's Mask staring at me all the time. Why couldn't it be Cremia and Romani?
Well, NoA isn't giving me a lot of options here... I'll probably stick to my current model. Maybe if they release a shimmery pink color like the Metallic Rose DS lite I'll bite... but I was really looking forward to those face plates.
@123akis I would definitely jump at the chance if a) I can transfer my Australian NNID and all my games to it, b) I can connect to the Australian Nintendo eShop on it, and c) it isn't announced for Australia between now and when I'm actually able to buy one. Provided these three factors are in full effect, I'd definitely consider importing one, along with some Cover Plates which aren't available here.
By the way, what kind of screwdriver does the New 3DS need?
I don't own any of the 3ds consoles or 2ds either, and I was planning on picking up a NEW 3DS from Nintendo of America when it got released and now I don't even care if I ever pickup any of the 3DS console. As of right now Nintendo of America will not be getting any of my money, the way NOA loves screwing us over. I am seriously thinking about importing from NOE and giving NOE all my money from now on, and saying the hell with Nintendo of America, Reggie, and Bill until they actually learn from there mistakes.
@GamerZack87 umm I used a screw driver from a set in my home, so I don't know the name of the size or anything. Use a small screwdriver. Nintendo really should of included one!
@snoox I know in Europe at least they have been selling systems without the chargers in box since the launch of the original XL. It baffled me at first but since then retailers are automatically bundling it with a charger anyway, and it means that they system gets a slimmer more stylish box meaning I don't really have a problem with it
I wanted the standard white one but since it's not coming to NA, I guess I'm not getting anything. It seems like the only way I'll get a New 3DS is if they bring the white standard to NA or a special edition one that I actually care for.
Although I find the xL model vastly superior to the standard due to my large man hands, the restrictive lack of options in NA can not be a good thing. Not everyone has hands/pockets the same size I do.
I wanted the Zelda one but as it appears to be unobtainable for preorder, I reserved a black model at Gamestop. But I'd kill for a Pink/White option like my previous 3DS xL. So lovely with my Princess Peach theme. Grown ass man talking here...
@Caryslan Despite liking the 3D so the enhanced 3D had me hopeful, I have to agree with you there a lot. I got rid of my original XL and got my sea green 2DS and have been gaming on that since and would love if they brought out a 'new' 2DS. It's the very least they could do if NoA wants to screw us over by not offering the standard n3ds model that -everyone else- gets.(it would also make more sense to allow 2DS owners to enjoy the new games and such if they really aren't planning to release the standard anymore for whatever stupid reason).
The 2DS is very comfortable to hold and I kinda hate the clamshell design, among other things, so a slight screen size increase like the standard n3ds(since the og 2DS and 3DS are the same as well) along with the other enhancements and I'd be set for a n'2'DS.
(Though my -ideal- desire would be a system with the 2DS form but with 3D, ha)
I WOULD choose the Standard Black New 3DS (voted for that in the poll anyway), but NOOOOOOOO Nintendo wanted to give Americans less choices than the rest of the world.
Nintendo's decision to single out Americans was ill-conceived and an overall horrible move. Shouldn't be surprised though, since this IS Nintendo of America we're talking about.
For now, I'll be skipping out on New 3DS. I already have the Wii version of Xenoblade, so I'm in no rush to get the portable version (which I do want since it would be a cool game to play portably). If Nintendo doesn't release the Standard model in the future, I'll eventually just settle on the red XL =_=
EDIT: Or......in the tiny chance the 3DS gets a Neptunia game and they make a limited edition for that.....
Am I the only American here who isn't bummed out about the standard New 3DS? I have always had my eyes on the XL version anyways. I don't really game on the go, I just like being able to relax anywhere in the house and play some amazing games, and Nintendo will definitely deliver that
I know this is kinda unrelated but man...those faceplates look fantastic.
I ordered the Embassedor 3DS (still waiting like most of Germany) but I'm not sure if I'll be happy wit it. Can't really image havong a smaller screenright now.
Also for the last vote: Streetpass still one of my favorite features. I love that we now get a constant flow of Puzzles, but I still wish we could get 1-2 new DLC games for it.
Another American here that wants the standard white model. I prefer the pixel density, the SNES abxy color scheme, and the face plates. I really want to hold out in hopes of it coming here eventually, but I'll probably break down and get a boring old black xl that I don't really want.
If I bought one it would have to be the XL because I am vision impaired. But despite that I just don't see a need for one. I don't like the extra joystick, and I think Amiibo is a ridiculous waste of money and useless to me. I'm sticking with my existing systems. No plans to ever get the new one.
I was incredibly excited about being able to get the white standard-size one. Then I watched the Direct.
In conclusion, I'll be getting nothing.
@Lord_Redwood I do. I absolutely think they're just not going to release it all, after not doing so at launch like every other region. No one hopes I'm wrong more than I do... but I flat out can't fathom that I am in this case... I know NoA too well, by now.
I managed to pre-order the MM edition (Euro, game included), but it's a bit costly here, with all the taxes and whatnot. So I'm still on the fence between the XL Majora's Mask and the Standard White.
So thorn between if i want an XL (it's large as loveydoveywuv) Or just a regular white for some awesome faceplates, i wonder if the increased size from the regular 3ds is enough to just go with the regular new 3ds.
Another American here that wants the standard N3DS. I really can't justify buying another 3DS unless it comes with lot of new features, and the kisekae plates are a real must-have for me.
I have 2 right now, a 3dsxl and a 2ds. i need 2 for my household, min...so im selling my 2ds now to get a new 3dsxl for my valentine day gift. my wife might get some wilted flowers and chocolates. If I can afford that anyways, thanks Nintendo.
1. I really wish the standard New 3DS was coming to the US. The colors and customizable faceplates are really interesting. 2. Can't believe how fast the Majora's Mask 3DS XL preorders ran out so quickly. I ended up purchasing the Monster Hunter bundle but I'm still gonna try to be at Nintendo World on launch day to get MM!
For me, the most important feature is the 3D improvements. I am a Nintendo 3DS XL owner and before that I had the original 3DS. The pixel density in the XL screens is so low that it's not very pleasant to play if your vision is still good. This is why I'll try to get the New Nintendo 3DS if I can buy my Nintendo 3DS XL. This means I'd very disappointed if I lived in North America.
I'll try to get the Majora's Mask plates if available because that's one of my favourite games ever.
Exclusive 3rd Party Games (Atlus, specifically), Nintendo games (yeah, I love my FE, Pkm, and Mario) seal the deal ...+ the dual screen is really nice
Anyways, I have like 5 3ds' (including siblings n stuff), so that hits the 5th percentile! (wow, surprising). Also, I'm mega disappointed with NoA's decision to not release (at this point) the standard New 3DS... I won't be throwing them any cash until they do so, mostly because I just prefer the smaller size or the huge XL...
Regular new 3DS for me, the cover plates are cool and in general I prefer the design with the super nintendo-colored buttons. Also, not to be evil, but it being not available in the US makes it feel more "special" somehow.
I'm not getting a N3DS. I skipped out on the DSi too. I'm surprised at how many people are disappointed about the standard size not coming to the US. I prefer the XL over the regular SO MUCH that it makes sense to me to not offer the standard size. I couldn't care less about face plates. I own it for the games...
Damien, I would love to see a bit of one of your new videos dedicated to how the C-Stick works with games that were programmed to use the Circle Pad Pro. Is it a good replacement for that bloated peripheral or is it something still needed?
Preordered my standard white one and I'll be upgrading from my pikachu 3ds xl which will move into my collection among all my other nintendo bits. Can't wait - also bought the two kyary pamyu pamyu cover plates from Japan!
Will be saving up for a Vita until they give NA the normal sized one. It's made me realized my xl is perfectly kinda okay aside from the pixel density and I should focus on expanding the range of games I can play instead of updating the hardware.
I am surprised more people are not excited about the new cover plates. I love customization and I can't wait to get the monster hunter cover plates but then have the ability to change to the pokemon plates when third party sellers, nintendo, japan inevitably make even more badass designs.
So, lots of people are petitioning to change NoA’s approach to the N3DS in North America so we can get the SMALLER version of the console. There are two petitions out and people are also calling in to let Nintendo know by phone, email, and chat.

I would have bought 2 new3dses in white, but Nintendo of America decided not to release it in their territory so I'm not getting anything and keep playing on my current 3dses.
Just bought a regular black one with some sweet wooden cover plates (UK) and love it. Moved from an old XL. The slightly bigger size makes it a comfortable trade off.

Put an option at "Which New Nintendo 3DS model are you thinking of buying?" with:
"Standard (White Ambassador Edition) aka I already have one "
I'm not buying anything because I wanted to get the regular N3DS with a cool set of faceplates but I live in America so... Snifff
I already locked in my order and paid if off the majoras mask bronce N3ds can not wait ! im dying to see this new 3d face tracking!
I already have the New 3ds ambassador edition!
I did want the regular N3DS, but the Zelda Limited Edition makes up for it a little.
I won't be picking the New 3DS. I rather just wait for the next-gen DS.
Every time I see a poll with monster hunter in it I get sad because I realize just how popular it isn't.... OT I am greatly disappointed that the standard model was shunned and though we may be seeing a release eventually, which I doubt will happen, it would be even more aggravating.
@DonnaxNL That's just the Standard New 3DS though.
@FritzFrapp @Wouwter Good point, I was also planning to get the standard white anyway.
I've already bought the Metallic Blue New 3DS XL, a lovely Australian import, and the Ambassador New 3DS from that promotion last week.
I'm a rare situation of owning both PAL systems before launch, haha.
ALready preordered the MH4U 3DS XL.
@AdanVC Ditto.
I hope I can get a Majora's Mask N3DS, but if not then I will go with some other N3DS XL.
I dont even care at this point if they dont bring any face plates, the xl is just too uncomfortable for me
@DonnaxNL sniff mine still hasn't arrived
I have my 3DS since it's launch day in europe and while I prefer the screen over that of the XL it's rather small and it's edges poke in my hand during the longer play periods.
the N3DS mostly irons out the issues I have with the regular 3DS so I think I will purchase one eventually but i'm still not sure if it's a day one or pre-order for me.
I either want Majora's Mask or blue.
@AdanVC
I will be getting the monster hunter xl since noa didn't give us the option of the standard new3ds XP.
I have the white Ambassador's Edition.
Previously owned:
aqua blue standard 3DS
blue 3DS XL
Currently own:
Zelda OoT 3DS
Zelda ALBW 3DS XL
Pikachu 3DS XL (which I'm going to sell when I get the MM3D n3DS XL.
Well if the Majora's Mask one wasn't sold out everywhere I'd go with that. So if Nintendo doesn't up the supply then I'll be going with the black XL.
3ds xl works well enough that I can wait for a sale for n3dsxl. Waiting for Black Friday.
If I get enough money this weekend I will order the Monster Hunter 4 Bundle.
Getting new 3ds xl, since it is the only model available in NA. Love to get majoras mask 3dsxl, but probably not happening. (Scalpers strike again!)
I'm sorry, but that's just my opinion!
@Spartacus3765 yeah I hear ya. Anything special from Nintendo sells out way too quickly these days. Not great for casual consumers.
Apparently, I can't just waltz in to my local gamestop and pick up a MH4U bundle. I can do that with the regular new 3ds. They would ship it to my house. What gives? is that normal?
I had my heart set on a regular-sized n3ds, but Nintendo soundly dashed that dream. Looks like I'm buying nothing at all.
Wanted a standard white new 3DS, now getting nothing.
I voted for the New 3DS Standard Black but it will not be released in North America as of yet. It's the only model I want. That's weak.
You should add "Not buying/not released" for people as me interested in the regular size 3ds not release for by NOA.
I voted for the new white but I already have one from australian with the smash faceplates that I bought in tokyo
@FritzFrapp Nintendo UK is sending a replacement soon, using a different courier (for better delivery). Huzzah! The tale of the New 3DS ends!
I will upgrade just if it has some exclusives games I can't pass on, like Pokémon, 3D Mario, Zelda, Fire Emblem, if not I'll stick with my 3DS XL.
@DonnaxNL @FritzFrapp Show Off, both of you. XD
@andrea987 Guilty
Been tempted to get a XL for ages... and the New 3DS XL seemed as good a time as any... if I can find a Majora Version... Nintendo has once again taken my money like candy from a baby.
I have a aqua blue 3DS and an Japanese New 3DS LL. Will upgrade Aqua Blue to New 3DS XL blue
I keep telling myself that I don't need to upgrade, and that my Cosmo Black 3DS will suffice, but my sub conscious won't listen to me.
I'd probably get the regular sized New 3DS.
I really don't understand the logic behind not putting the interchangeable face covers on the bigger XL models. It's such a cool feature.
@Luna-Harmony I haven't seen any sales figures, but I'm certain its because the 3DS XL is a bigger seller. Ever since the 3DS XL was released, all special editions have been 3DS XL only, so I'm sure that has boosted sales figures.
Why would I buy this when there is not enough incentive to buy? You got one exclusive game..... not enough for me to drop $200 on.
I'm was hoping to get a MM one , but work kept me from getting one in time so, I locked myself in for a red one should more become available, I'll just switch my pre-order over.
@omalleycat215
Yup. I'm essentially holding the pre-order hostage. lol. Thing is, if I end up not wanting the 3DS, I'm NOT going to want to profit off of it. Stupid thing on ebay has already sold for over $400!!
The way I see it, I have a few options:
Was not thinking about purchasing the standard so I'm good. Also, very happy I got my Majoras Mask 3ds XL pre ordered.
"Which New Nintendo 3DS model are you thinking of buying?"
Um... Well since I live in America...
Pointless to buy NN3DS since my 3ds xl is only few months old. I'll stick to that till something totally new comes out.
I love that the MH4U 3DS XL isn't as popular as the Majora's Mask one. That means that although I can't order one now, maybe they will stull be available at a later date when I can.
Already pre-ordered the Majora's Mask edition.
Black New XL, because I live in the U.S. and that's my only choice.
As an American, I cannot click the one I would like to click. sob
Where the "Would buy the standard white one but I'm in America so I'll just sit in the corner an cry" option?
I only have the original. Do you reccomend me upgrading it to the new XL?
Really the only thing different about the non XL model is changing faceplates... give me bigger size and the usual home menu themes anyday.
in which thing im mostly interested in for new 3ds, isnt listed because its xenoblade 3d!
The only reason why i will buy it yet and cant wait to have it
I've already got the MM UK one pre-ordered. I'll be getting a US Red one. I already have a Black Japanese one and my husband has a Blue Australian one
I know I keep complaining about this, but I'm hoping Nintendo may pay attention to complaints. I want the white standard! And it better have the colored buttons! I have the cash. They make the unit. I don't understand why they don't want my money.
I was enraged because there isn't going to be a standard New 3DS model.
I'll probably buy the XL MM one anyway..
Would love an awesome(r) Zelda ce.)
Anyways, thinking of getting the standard nn3dsxl at this rate. Probably my only option with the scalping going on now.
I dunno if it's happening in Europe also but you should take a poll on charger-gate, seems outrageous at least to us Americans, I think it harms Nintendo's image & reputation.
Just now did I realize how long the abbreviations for ce consoles are getting. So much for abbreviations! Some of them are longer than most words!
@hylian-pudding Might be under "Other or N/A".
Since there's no standard for NA I'm sticking with my regular non-new 3DS. Not a fan of the XL and I don't need a new 3DS in a hurry anyway.
Did you guys do this one purpose? NA doesn't even get a choice.
Looking to get the black new standard size. Which will be my first 3DS!
MH4U
i need helps to which one i should get
The things that disappoint me:
Otherwise, New 3DS looks awesome.
Not buying it. Micro SD card? ROFL
I love me some nice black hardware. Seriously, most of my hardware in my household is black, I've got to keep a motif here.
I think I need to buy myself a 32GB micro SD as well, but that will have to wait 2 weeks later when I've got my pay.
@GamerZack87 Just import the European version! Games purchased from Australia works on european systems!
@123akis Agreed. Not everybody owns a set of screwdrivers of their own.
It seems like the only way I'll get a New 3DS is if they bring the white standard to NA or a special edition one that I actually care for.
is the standard NEW 3DS Model going to be available in the US now?
Although I find the xL model vastly superior to the standard due to my large man hands, the restrictive lack of options in NA can not be a good thing. Not everyone has hands/pockets the same size I do.
I wanted the Zelda one but as it appears to be unobtainable for preorder, I reserved a black model at Gamestop. But I'd kill for a Pink/White option like my previous 3DS xL. So lovely with my Princess Peach theme. Grown ass man talking here...
The standard size is so much cooler because of the custom plates, too bad, the Xl doesn't have it.
I will be getting the regular 3ds that people will be selling for 50 bucks so that they can upgrade to the new 3ds
This must be a poll for Europeans because I don't see a "F**k Nintendo and their XL only" vote.
Nintendo better release the regular one within may!! does anyone think that they may not even release it? just like they did with the 2DS in Japan?
If I bought one it would have to be the XL because I am vision impaired. But despite that I just don't see a need for one. I don't like the extra joystick, and I think Amiibo is a ridiculous waste of money and useless to me. I'm sticking with my existing systems. No plans to ever get the new one.
I was incredibly excited about being able to get the white standard-size one. Then I watched the Direct.
In conclusion, I'll be getting nothing.
@Lord_Redwood
I do. I absolutely think they're just not going to release it all, after not doing so at launch like every other region. No one hopes I'm wrong more than I do... but I flat out can't fathom that I am in this case... I know NoA too well, by now.
None, because they shafted the U.S. by not bringing the clearly superior standard model.
Ive got the Majora's Mask console preordered, as well as the special edition MM game. I'm all set!
I managed to pre-order the MM edition (Euro, game included), but it's a bit costly here, with all the taxes and whatnot.
So I'm still on the fence between the XL Majora's Mask and the Standard White.
Wow, a lot more people are going to buy New 3DS models than I expected.
I have a 2DS and that's suffice.
I'd have a change to pre-order MMedition but it's damn 300e!
And one store is giving the figurine
But then again, I own now XL - will I be disappointed if I buy regular 3ds? Because I don't want plain colour one (I have XL FE edition)
I voted the black XL but, I actually just pre-ordered the MH4 bundle.
I just pre-ordered the New 3DS XL Monster Hunter 4 edition.
How many people are not pre ordering the 3ds xl in the UK because the Zelda limited edition has been out of stock for so long.
Is the limited edition going to be back in stock or is that it?
I guess the games plays the same on any new 3ds, but it would be good to know how LIMITED the limited edition is.
So, lots of people are petitioning to change NoA’s approach to the N3DS in North America so we can
get the SMALLER version of the console. There are two petitions out and people are also calling in
to let Nintendo know by phone, email, and chat.
