Yoshi Circuit From Double Dash!! Makes A Comeback In November's Mario Kart 8 Zelda-Themed DLC Pack

Is there an exact date yet? All I've heard so far is 'November'......

Tanooki buggy! Anyway, I do hope the patch the game again to show which stamps/challenges you haven't unlock yet. I'm still missing 7 stamps and I have no idea which achievements I've missed.

You would think this is going to be released around the time the Amiibo incorporation update comes out, so I'm guessing the 21st.

You know; the more I think about it the more I realise I kinda preferred Mario Kart when it was about actual go-karts being raced in tracks that looked like they actually belonged in the actual Mario kingdom.

Now it's starting to look less and less authentic to the Mario universe it's actually supposed to be set in, in fact it's actually looking more and more like it's set in some kind of "real" world with a bit of a Mario theme, and as a result it's starting look less and less appealing to me and just kinda wrong.

I actually prefer the overall look of the recent Namco arcade Mario Kart game to be honest and I think that's much closer to how an authentic Mario Kart game should look and feel (at least from what I've seen in this trailer): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htU__erZyZ8

Can't wait, been literally playing MK8 since the day of release, it's just so much fun. I loved Double Dash, and I was hoping for some more buggies funny enough. This is gonna be great!

Never played MK Wii or Double Dash!, but I just woke up to this news which is awesome they brought back this!

I love this track so much, love the music aswell, i really hope the shortcut from Double dash is there tho, it was never in the DS version, so i hope it returns. Also tanooki buggy looks really cool, SO far we know about 4 tracks in the zelda pack, cant wait ^_^

@LavaTwilight I think that this track not having anti-gravity is for the better in my opinion.

Good for me that I haven't bought Mario Kart 8 yet. See DLC will follow as well when i buy it so I will enjoy it more. lol

It's exciting to know Nintendo are willing to feature retro tracks that have already been remade previously - it's something I didn't think they'd do so soon even knowing many retro tracks from the previous 3DS and Wii iterations of the game would benefit from an HD, anti-grav rehaul. Think Double Dash's DK Mountain that was remade on Wii and SNES Rainbow Road on 3DS. I'm betting we'll see some more of them in the DLC packs AND in the next game (see you next generation...)

With only ten days left until November I wish they'd hurry up and announce a release date - I'm really desperate now.

Never liked this track, wish they had chosen something else. Banshee Boardwalk or Maple Treeway for me ;p

@BensonUii the best way to unlock everything is by getting 3 stars on every grand prix, beat all staff times on time trials, win gold on a grand prix with every charecter.

@97alexk Looks like the shortcut is back in use; one of the Yoshis takes advantage of it in the video at the 0:25 mark.

I've beaten the staff on time trials.
I've got 3 stars on every cup except mirror mode but I've got at least 1 stars each. I think I've played and completed a cup of each and every character (although I might have missed someone.). I just wanna know who. is there something to unlock on battle mode?

suddenly i feel like i wont be able to choose on what games to get since everything is coming out in the same month >.< but i have to get this DLC this is just one of those fun tracks they had so hope its as fun again

Double Dash has the best tracks, so this is good news. Hope they didn't butcher the shortcuts.

I'm loving the tanooki buggy, that thing will likely become my main vehicle depending on its stats. Yoshi circuit looks great too. All we need now is a release date!

Still hoping N64 Wario Stadium will get a reboot. This is the only N64 Track that hasn't been done I think

I wouldnt say "unknown reasons" as much as sane financial decisions. Why pay for something in Aug you wont get until some still undiclosed date in Nov and May of next year? Unless people are worried about DLC selling out fast and becoming a hard to get collectors item on eBay? ;'-)

Already remade in MKDS, but that looked worse than the original, and the remade version looks gorgeous. So I'm okay with this.

When it comes to DLC its always up to the player to decide whether the content is worth their purchase similar to pre-orders but this is the FIRST maio kart game where we get more content added on instead of waiting for the new game in the franchise which will unfortunately be on the future console…sure ur complaint is valid pre-ordering dlc with no release date but for $12 ur getting 16 Tracks…half a game…its takin awhile sure cuz nintendo does it right and wont easily release unfinished product. why complain about them remaking an old favorite just enjoy it for what it is…a bigger better mario kart game that will only improve and give us more with the next mario kart…

oh and DOUBLE DASH is the best mario kart eva ;p

I don't care about the drivers (only if Kirby comes available) but I really want to play the Courses.

@BarryDunne No it wasnt in the DS version, i dont mean the shortcut through the waterfall, i mean the other one where you fall down in a down area section, its in double dash, but never was In mario kart DS

Yoshi Circuit was my favorite track from Double Dash. Glad to see it back.

Since I barely played DD, then this track is new to me. And I am loving the look of that jeep.

It was also featured in MKDS and it's one of my favorite 😆

Disappointed that we're getting remakes of remakes especially when Mushroom City, Wario Colosseum, Bowser's Castle and Rainbow Road have not been remade yet. Oh well, at least we're getting Wario's Gold Mine which is new to be remade. As for pack release date, I think it'll be November 28th.

This track was one of the reasons I didn't like MK DS's classic tracks. They watered down most of them and picked the bland ones. The original was great though

I think I read somewhere half of the DLC tracks will be revamped tracks and half will be new... so considering the two DLC packs we'll get 8 retro tracks and 8 new ones - which is great considering the low price point.

I really hope this comes early November. The more I see of this DLC, the more I wanna try it all out. <3

@jariw - Well it was a nice little bonus, I'll give them that. But we wouldn't use them. I don't use Dark Link either but the HW first DLC content came out a couple of weeks after the season pass purchase, so that's why I pre-ordered. And to try and get that box off my start screen. It at least it alternates w/ the blue box now. And considering all my recent HDD issues I'm glad I haven't pre-paid yet.

Wow, some double dash love! Wonderful to see Nintendo breaking the rules again with this dlc. First impressions are pretty good for this classic track looking like it belongs in the main game. Loving the little details, like yoshi being still wet coming-out the waterfall.

Very interesting to hear more info on this new jeep kart. Could this be the option for inside drifting drivers that want to fire hop too...

This is stupid. That track was already made. There still tons of classic tracks to be remade and they waste time with this again? why?
This only shows how Nintendo developers are still pissed off that their darling Gamecube failed and cannot get over it. This is ridiculos.

@NintyMan I just had a horrible, horrible idea: a Baby Park-esque track that's shaped like the inside of a torus, where you start on the ground and go along to walls and ceiling during a lap. Projectiles literally everywhere.

ahem need i remind u the frame of mind u possessed while pondering whether or not us should purchase the Hyrule Warriors Season Pass???? now for that game which many (I included) doubted had faith after playing that the season pass would deliver and just that additional Adventure map was worth it alone…u bought it knowing very little but opinions from the community and how u felt about the game. Now YOU tell me that ur not sure about pre-ordering MK8 Nintendo Quality add-on content? YOU who feels MK8 makes the WiiU complete…have reservations about preordering this DLC?!?! 12 bucks for $30 worth of content that ninty wouldnt normally give us until a decade later?!?! my friend stick ur tongue out at me all u want but ur riding that special little yellow school bus all by yourself! @WanderingPB - Never said I wasn't buying it, there was never any question I was buying it, I have said on several occasions I was buying it, just don't see the point in paying for something until I know when it's coming out as I don't want or need colored "skins".

If it makes you feel any better if Cereza or Wonder Red was in it I probably would have purchased it by now

Oh, and I purchased the HW DLC once we had the Oct 16 date, or right after Epona was announced, but I'm pretty sure I knew both

@minotaurgamer Heh, that or the fact that the DS remake of yoshi's circuit was very limited and the fact that Yoshi Circuit has been remade again shows that tracks that has already been remade may be remade again for future games/dlc? Just a thought.....
