For those with better memories and an enthusiasm for WiiWare, NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits may be a title that is regarded with some fondness. A sedate puzzle platformer that made natural use of the Wii Remote, it had such a positive impact on us that we awarded it an impressive 9/10 in our NyxQuest review.
That's the only occasion, to date, that we've seen developer Over The Top Games on a Nintendo platform, though we may eventually see its next project — Full Mojo Rampage. An exploration/action game with an isometric viewpoint, you control a Voodoo keeper working through levels to collect voodoo dolls and mojos, the latter of which can be used boost strength or craft new powers. A major part of the game is seeking help or powers from Gods that'll set challenges, though these characters may deceive and trick you.
It sounds intriguing, and it also makes use of a "procedural level creation algorythm", which basically means that no level will be the same twice as you proceed. It's currently in closed alpha on PC, though it's only a couple of months away from being available as an open alpha, where those who've pre-ordered will start to play; in its blog the developer states that should all go well it'll look into bringing the title to other platforms including, yes, Wii U. It seems like a release that would appear on the eShop, with a final price for the PC title set to be $15.
At the current time this would certainly be the first game of its kind on the Wii U eShop. Let us know what you think about its potential, and your thoughts on this genre, in the comments below.

Nyxquest was a really good game early on in the life of wiiware! Just off that this game here should be given a chance. Not to crazy about the voodoo element though!
I'll keep my eye on it! I'm not that crazy about the voodoo thing either, but I'm open to new experiences. It might just be a lot of fun! Love the isometric camera!
Nyxquest was a great game that obviously didn't sell too well. Hopefully the compsny behind it are willing to give a Nintendo platform another shot!
Yeah, NyxQuest is pretty cool. A unique atmosphere (like a dark Kid Icarus), and great puzzles, a beautiful art style and soothing music. Bring the full mojo on, Over The Top Games.
Roguelike Dungeon gameplay? Toejam & Earl anyone?
Nyxquest was groovy so anything new from this developer will definitely be of interest.
If it had a succesful wiiware title on, then most likely it will come. Better keep my hopes up for this year!
So I see they haven't gotten any better at naming things...
Good spot!!
Anytime I hear the words 'procedural generated' my interest sparks *1000. "Isometric, action/exploration roguelike with voodoo powers" just sounds awesome!! Hopefully it's good..
@Blue_Yoshi
I remember playing Toejam & Earl on a friends Genesis back in the day. What a wacky game!! More like it please.
The "random level" part killed it for me! But I still keep an eye on it!
Oh, and Icarian was great!
I may have to check this one out. Mojo rising.
I hope that they release it, I have been tempted to get NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits, but I've been waiting to find out if WiiWare will offically be transferable to the Wii U
I loved NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits despite its short length. I think I may still have it in its previous named form, Icarus something? I don't think I ever updated it. Hopefully they get this on Wii U, it looks quite interesting & random levels means infinite replayability so that sounds extra awesome
You mean Icarian! I never updated either, because I wanted to keep that name!
