A Unique Twist on Snowboarding Using Weapons!
REDWOOD CITY, CA - November 11, 2008 - Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm of HUDSON SOFT, today announced that Snowboard Riot, a distinctive
snowboarding game unlike anything players have ever encountered will be coming to WiiWare. Snowboarding will reach new heights when players take to the slopes with action-packed racing utilizing weapons such as homing bullets and invisibility!
"Snowboard Riot is not your standard snowboarding game," said Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Product Development at Hudson Entertainment. "A snowboarding game is a rush by itself, but when you add weapons, it becomes even more exciting. Add in online play for four people and you have the perfect game for both snowboarding and action-racing fans"
While snowboarding is already an exhilarating activity, nothing can prepare players for Snowboard Riot. Battle with up to 4 boarders using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to race online and blow away the competition. Weapons such as mines and turbo are available to give players an edge fighting it out on the mountain.
Gamers have several control options, as they can use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk or the Wii Balance Board to carve their way to victory. Just like a real snowboard, players can lean left and right on the Wii Balance Board, providing a realistic snowboard experience. Boarders can also choose from four characters to bomb the slopes, and can customize their look with Oakley apparel and goggles to improve their performance.
Snowboard Riot is rated E for Everyone by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).

At least its not shovelware. Not me though. Last time I snowboarded was in FFVII.
I expected a video
i wanted a vid too
I think it is to early for a video. Cool game though.
Weapons...I don't know why expectations just shot down a notch. As long as its not an autopilot that will smash anything in its path or the from last you get to ruin first place item...
wil probalay get this cos its sounds pretty dam good and it uses the balance board so even better!
I am keeping an eye on this one
Got rid of my last post after checking out more photos. Looking at it properly, Snowboard Riot definitely sounds like it could be fun, mixing 1080 with Mario Kart game play mechanics.
Would anyone else like a series of Mario Kart Cups for WiiWare? Plays just like Mario Kart Wii but with new courses - about four, maybe one or two more per release depending on how many they can fit onto a WiiWare download.
I'd love to see some Mario Kart action on WiiWare. Until that happens this looks like the next best thing. I love games like SSX Tricky so I hope this one turns out as good.
Another game from Hudson with wi-fi support! They are really spoiling us!
I need to get a Wii Balance Board NOW.
This looks like it might be pretty good. I just got wii fit so I'm looking forward to trying the balance board out on this.
I'm hoping this will be THE wiiware racing game. It has potential.
About the damn time we get a snowboard game with online multiplay! Shame on you Shaun! Without online there is no Balance Board racing! I would have preferred Road Rashy close combat over missiles though. Now to think of it, that would have been a million seller! Would it be too late to change it?
I'd like to see more Mario Kart tracks for sure. Since they put some of the tracks from Mario Kart games of yesterday, I would like them to continue the trend, and update all of the old tracks so I could play them with the Wii Wheel.
I know this won't be like Amped snowboarding which is awesome, but I think it will feel alot like Mario Kart meets 1080. (as mentioned in an earlier post)
God, I sure hope this game is good.
The online mode sounds ace, and has just secured itself a purchase from myself.
RE: MKWiiWare
As sad as it may be, that's never going to happen
We're bound to get some licensed Mario tat in future though. Mario Tennis, perhaps? Oh, who am I kidding? It'll just be another puzzle game with his face slapped on the title screen
I'l still keep dreaming about a new Nintendo 2D platformer for WiiWare though...
