Review Double Dragon II: The Revenge (Wii U eShop / NES)
Double draggin'
There was a period from the late-'80s to the early-'90s when side-scrolling beat 'em up games were all the (streets of?) rage – from Double Dragon to Final Fight to Streets of Rage, we just couldn't get enough of punching hooligans in the face down long straight paths. Perhaps the most fun aspect of these titles was the multiplayer...
Review Double Dragon II: The Revenge (3DS eShop / NES)
Now actually living up to its name
As one of the first scrolling beat 'em ups ever made, the original Double Dragon became a smash hit when it was released way back in 1987, and like most arcade games at the time quickly received a port to the NES. A single year later, Double Dragon II was released in arcades and, as was to be expected, it was also...
Review Double Dragon II: The Revenge (Wii Virtual Console / NES)
Revenge is sweet
When Double Dragon first hit the arcade scene back in 1987, it was immediately lauded for its intense beat 'em up gameplay and slick visuals and soundtrack. After making pit stops on a number of platforms, the NES included, the game only grew in popularity. So it was only natural that a sequel, Double Dragon II: The Revenge would...

Random Double Dragon 3D, a Suspicious Remaster of The Revenge, Pops Up on Steam Greenlight
Takedown notice in 3, 2, 1...
One of the games included on the upcoming Mini NES is Double Dragon II: The Revenge (which we've written about recently), the best of a trailblazing but arguably iffy trilogy of iconic 8-bit beat 'em ups by Technōs Japan. It seems that thanks to the wildlands of Steam Greenlight, however, it's not the only iteration of...

Video You're Unlikely To Find A More Exhaustive History Of Double Dragon Than This
"You got 50,000 on Double Dragon?!"
Technos' Double Dragon has to rank as one of the most seminal arcade games of all time. While it wasn't the first side-scrolling fighter by a long way, it laid down the foundations of the genre and inspired countless clones and even a (terrible) Hollywood movie. It also played a significant role in the cult film...

So, we're really expecting another VC game to eventually come our way?
I love this game so much. I hope it comes out soon.
Supposedly a company named Aksys will be porting DD2 to the Wii VC, but there's no definite release date. I much preferred this one to the first DD.
