Switch Online's Missions & Rewards Adds Zelda Icons You Can Only "Get By Playing"

I love a link to the past and am going to pick these up, but they look kinda ugly haha

Not the best-looking art they could've picked from this game, but still getting all of them because of nostalgia (not like there's much else to spend these points on).

But ugh, having to boot up the game is unnecesarily annoying. I've already played this game a million times, Nintendo, including on NSO! I know it only takes a minute, but what's the point of forcing us to do this?

Waaah?!?! No weird talking fish??? No Spooky holes for eyes target minigame carney??? No Kiki the dependable tree to chimp??? I’m just happy to see link to the past get some icons, what a memorable game.

Oh...i kinda got hyped by the Link on the thumbnail, i love THAT one Link, but Oracles Link is my all time favorite.

I'm sucker for all things zelda. With that said, I've been thinking about replacing Alttp in the near future. Now I just might.

Never finished ALTTP despite starting a new save file like... 5 or 6 different times in the past. The closest I got on one of my playthroughs was the ice dungeon, which I think may have been like the next-to-last dungeon in the game. Ah, well. One of these days I'll try to finish it.

There's actually a decently big gap in the Zelda games I've completed. Never finished the NES games (hardly even touched Adventure of Link), never finished Majora's Mask, never even played Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks... And that's just the mainline ones. Hopefully someday I can cross those off my gaming bucket list.

Will these NSO icons be the thing that gets me to do that? Well, no. Probably not. Sorry, Nintendo, but ya tried.

@Martijn87 Technically we did got ALTTP Link amiibo, with Toy Link from the Links Awakening Switch remake.

It was my first Zelda game I ever played and started my obsession. Might have to put down my current game just to collect up those icons.
Wish you could play it without the internet and without a subscription though

If this month is A Link to the Past, then by hypothesis, next month should be Donkey Kong Country. And if Xbox Game Studios allows it, we may have icons of some iconic enemies, like Klump, Krusha, Kritter, and even the Kremling Kommander, King K. Rool, as long as he isn't a silhouette like in the manual.

I actually love that artwork that they chose for those icons. Fills me with a lot of nostalgia from flipping through the instruction booklet for the game.

But why do they have to be behind a "play-wall"??

This is super fun! I hope they use them in more creative ways, it would be nice to have these icons as like an actually useful "achievement" system

I really like this idea. The last one for Yoshi's Island was a welcome excuse to pick that one up again. I love the Yoshi series - simply but cute and fun gameplay.

Who creates these? And why no backgrounds and frames for these "special" releases? I mean, are they even trying!? 🤪
