Xbox's Grounded Is Getting A Physical Release On Switch, Pre-Orders Open

I love Grounded but there is no way the game is going to run on the Switch in a way that would warrant such an extravagant release.
That Collector’s edition looks cool, but i won’t be buying this game before i see reviews.

I still get major "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids" vibes from this game.

I don t know what will happen next; but it doesn't t look good. P3 and P4 Golden owned by SEGA sold and distributed by LRG. I need to pay import fees to buy a persona game...or now, and obsidian game.
At least LRG shipping fees are quite fair.

The Switch version of this game looks pretty rough graphically even in the trailer, so I think I'll get it for the PC if I ever want to play it.

@Pipulitoch unfortunately we'll probably see more and more of this, just basically a form of outsourcing so the publisher doesnt need to care about physical distribution. I was very surprised when I saw Doom Eternal release via LRG

Here's the thing with limited run: they do pre-orders, then they sell out, and then you find 80% of the produced copies on ebay for 100+ dollars. I would like to read the reviews to know if this conversion is another 30 fps miracle or they had to cut too many corners before buying a physical copy from limited run that will arrive at my door a year from now anyway. Limited run is the worst choice to produce the basic version of any game.

Been playing this game since it went into early access on pc, and have been a big fan of it ever since. That said, I really want to know how it performs on the Switch, because I feel like it’s going to have a tough time running it. I also find it weird that Microsoft went with LRG to make this instead of doing it themselves.

I need to know if it cross save with the pc version

Better that than to have a download-only code in the box.

@Pipulitoch The alternative is that the digital copies have to be profitable even at physical distribution costs. Digital and retail prices have to match per Nintendo's rules, disincentivizing cheaper games from being purchasable outside of the eshop where Nintendo gets the store slice of the money and the licensing slice as opposed to just the licensing.

The exception to this is if it's a "limited" release rather than a full retail release. LR used to limit them based on quantity, but then many would miss out. Now they limit based on time window so that theoretically millions could purchase. (I don't know if there's a maximum.) The whole goal is inclusiveness, yet the optics are unenviably the opposite.

Why does it take months to ship the game?

Physical, Limited Run, never mind. That aside it is a good amount of bonuses will say. the Cassette USB soundtrack is cool, however many song though HMM as well as just the USB itself if similar to the Xenoblade X USB. The rest of the dice and more are nice bonuses.

Does Microsoft think that little of us to not offer a physical of Grounded or Hi Fi Rush on a wider scale seriously. Come on. I get the production costs, the blu ray alliance royalties, marketing they have done of course,I get however many copies go unsold but even still.

I'd totally buy them if they were a wider physical, because they aren't I'm not buying them at all.

Want to hope that Grounded doesn't run like Outer Worlds did on Switch and is better than that. Whether it's Obsidian or another dev entirely which is always the case yeah you'd want to hope it's a better port. Also with updates hmm. I mean Minecraft pushes consoles with it's updates, I can't wait to see how Grounded does over time as it's still active unlike say old Terraria where I think it was just 1.3 and that was it. I don't remember. Some games do end up that way while others still get updates or they just cut if off at 8th/9th then 7th or 3DS/Vita in the handheld space for some titles since those are over with.

It's what I wondered about Stardew Valley does it have only 8th/9th gen updates and Vita/other older versions got dropped and dev kits sent back?

Besides the fact I actually know about these games and that they aren't something that went unnoticed is something to be said. I didn't even know Pentiment was on Xbox One even if it's digital. That's how bad their it's on either in their smart delivery 2-3 years old gen period from their now of course fair current gen focus now of games.

Ugh limited run though??? This game has a big budget, why is it getting this pitty little physical release. Am I going to have to buy it immediately upon release or the price skyrockets? I've never bought from LRG

@teo_o they don't really "sell out" because there's a pre-order window. Anyone who wants a copy can buy it, they just have to do so within the time frame, which is usually like 6 months.

I've never understood the hate they get. If they were on kickstarter or something, nobody would complain about how long it takes to get a game. Patience is a virtue.

It could still sell plenty of copies. Just depends on how many people pre-order in the 6 months they'll be offering it. Also, most LRG releases d don't seem to go for much on ebay or mercari. Maybe the collectors editions, but not just the games. I usually see $30 LRG games going for $35-40 on ebay

The big downside to LRG is production time. It varies from game to game but after pre-orders close you won't get the game for 6-12 months probably. Although I have gotten them in 4

@Corvus96 I am not hating on LRG. I love what they do and yeah I'm a little ignorant to how it works. So do they hold 6 months of unlimited pre orders and then they produce that amount? I just feel like this game could sell a lot of copies if it was released to stores like Target.
